Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a great week! We sure did; our family spent the week at Panama City Beach. The Lord blessed us with perfect weather. We were on the beach all day, every day. We ate delicious seafood every night. We actually went parasailing and rode the banana boats. It was a great week!
Our Pennsylvania travelers are back in town also. I hope y’all had a wonderful time!
Father’s Day is Sunday, June 19. I hope all fathers have a great day. A woman by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd, who was raised by a single dad, is credited with starting Father’s Day in 1910 after hearing a sermon in church honoring mothers. The following month, she held the first Father’s Day celebration in Spokane, Wash., on June 19. While Fathers Day was acknowledged for years, it did not become official until 1966 when President Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation honoring fathers and declared the third Sunday in June as Fathers Day. ( If you still have your father with you, call, send a card or visit him on his special day!
Summer begins on June 21; kids are already out of school. Many will take vacations, some will stay home and enjoy family or go swimming and many others are going to summer camps. Whatever you do this summer, I pray you have a fun and safe one! The July 4 holiday is just around the corner!
The Enville Wild Goose Shindig will be on Aug. 27. Mark your calendars and join in on the fun, food and fellowship. More details to come!
Happy birthday wishes go to Mary Lou Avent on June 17, David Milford on June 19 and Josh Trammell on June 20. Happy anniversary to Jack and Tera O’Neal on June 17. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
On our prayer list is Lisa Bishop, Deb Finley, Agnes Smith, Linda and Robert Johnson, Florence Stublaski, Ashley Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Amanda Johnson, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Ann Pugh, Emily Freeman, Larry Lambert, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Rick Ooley, Larry Lambert, Tim Harris, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Jimmy Robertson, Sue Henson, Mikki Patterson, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, those who have lost loved ones and, as always, each other.
