Hello from Enville! I hope everyone is having a great week. Welcome to May! Maybe the April showers left with April to make way for May flowers. The weather is still on the cool side. I am hearing this is blackberry winter, and they are blooming. Looking forward to warm temperatures and lots of sunshine!
The Enville Volunteer Fire Department is having their annual barbeque fundraiser on Saturday, May 13, Sale will begin at 10 a.m., and there will be pork, chicken and bologna. Ribs are available by pre-order only. If you want a rack, see any firefighter. There will also be a bake sale; baked items are appreciated.
Decoration days are in full swing at various cemeteries. This Sunday in our area, we have Mt. Zion, O’Neal, Roby, Grove Springs, Center Hill and Beech Springs. Please make donations to your family cemeteries. It takes a lot to keep them looking good and mowed nicely.
Happy birthday wishes go to Agnes Smith on May 5 and Beverly Weatherington and Tarecia Shelton on May 7. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
Please pray for Lisa Bishop, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice and Danny Keen, Linda and Robert Johnson, Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Ann Pugh, Emily Freeman, Ashley Pugh, Shirley Hampton, Della Mixon, Tim and Tabitha Hampton, Loretta Plunk, Kathy Emerson, Joann Fowler, Dot Smith, Jimmy Robertson, Rick Ooley, James Vinson, Tim Harris, Mike Pugh, those who have lost loved ones, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement, healthcare workers, military, schools and school board and, as always, each other.
We attended the Milledgeville Heritage Day on Saturday. We saw lots of old cars and tractors, and we got barbeque, which was good. Danny and I ran into some friends we have not seen in a while. We saw my coworker I worked with at the Chester County Bank, Pat Burkhead, her husband and Freddie and Lucy Thomas while eating at the Reagan Cafe. It was so good to see them!
Volleyball is over. Our granddaughter, Reece made the Junior High basketball team, and we are so proud of her. We look forward to watching her and her team play! Our grand boys are busy with football practices and track and field meets. School is winding down for this year with graduation coming soon. Congratulations to all! I am pretty sure most students and teachers are more than ready for their summer break!
We are hoping Maggie’s in Enville will be open soon! We have the best pizza anywhere around in downtown Enville – Charlie’s New York Style Pizza; he has a lot more than pizza. Give them a visit or call ahead to order at 731-315-0762. They are always very busy!
If you have news to share or someone to add to the prayer list, call me at 608-3058. If you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125.
Have a blessed week everyone!
