Hello from Enville.
I hope everyone had a great week. We had some pretty weather with a little rain Monday, which our garden really needed. It was getting dry.
Flag Day will be on Sunday, June 14. In 1885, Bernard Cigrand, a small-town Wisconsin teacher, originated the idea for an annual flag day to be celebrated across the country every June 14. That year, he led his school in the first formal observation of the holiday. To me, the American flag means freedom and national pride. Our flag, which we honor and celebrate, reminds us to respect our country and our individual rights. It is not there just so we can salute it. The flag was made to stand for our independence and rights.
Summer begins on June 20. A lot of folks have been anticipating this season. I like summer, but my favorites are spring and fall. Summertime has a lot to offer – camps, ball games, swimming, camping, vacations or just getting together with family. I hope everyone enjoys their summer!
Father’s Day is just around the corner, so do not forget dad on his special day!
