Hello from Enville! I hope everyone had a great week. Fall weather has returned. It is very chilly these days. I really liked last week’s temperatures, as I am sure many of you did. Temperatures were in the 80s for highs, and the lows were in the 60s. Perfect as far as I am concerned! It is time for the cooler weather. Halloween is this Saturday night. The Enville Community will be set up at the center, ready for Trick or Treaters to come fill their pumpkins. We will be practicing social distancing, so bring those kiddos out to see us. We will be ready to see all the ghosts and goblins at 5:40 p.m. Please be safe!
Daylight Savings Time ends on Nov. 1, so turn your clocks back one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night (fall back). Personally, I do not like the sun setting so early and getting dark earlier. The nights seem so long, it will take some time to adjust to the new time.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Please exercise your right to vote! Due to the election on Tuesday, the Enville Community Club will host our annual Veterans and Senior Citizens Dinner and Program at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, at the community center. The program will be all new this year, so plan to attend and invite a veteran or senior to come with you.
Remember that you need to obtain a burn permit before you plan to burn. This began in Tennessee on Oct. 15 and goes into May next year.
Please add to your prayer list the family of Troy Massengill, Loretta Plunk and continue prayers for Florence Stublaski, Jean Crowell, Agnes Smith, Mary Lee Guyon, Janice Keen, Deb Finley, Casey Pratt, Doris Weeks, Linda and Robert Johnson, Janice Keen, Jack and Tera O’Neal, Harold and Janice Maness, Inez Cash, Imogene Hollin, Lisa Bishop, Amanda Johnson, Dean Hutcherson, Dennis Harwell, Jo Marie Holmes, Genny Sue Martin, Brother Bill Evans, Paulette Pugh, Tim Harris, Jamie Dilday, Kristen Daniel, Janet Scott, Dwayne Seaton, Jr., Glen Butts, Wayne Bethune, those who have lost loved ones, those affected by COVID-19, our firefighters, first responders, law enforcement and healthcare workers and, as always, each other.
Happy birthday wishes go to Eddie Walker, Sr. on Oct. 31, Wayne Pugh on Nov. 2 and Jacelyn Haskins on Nov. 4. Happy belated birthday to Ron Bates on Oct. 13 and Alex Bates on Oct. 23. We hope you all enjoy your special day!
If you want to rent the community center, call Pat at 688-5125, or if you have news, call me at 688-5129.
Have a blessed week everyone!
