Hello to everyone! Greetings from the City. “I will bless the Lord at all times.” – Psalm 34
Philippians 2:4-5 reads, “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.” This week is a special week. It is the week that we will celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is all about Him. Matter of fact, every day is all about Him. So this week in the article, the City would like to say to all have a “MERRY, MERRY, CHRISTMAS!” So on the birthday list this week: Dec. 25 – Happy Birthday JESUS!!!! Yes, we do not know the date when our Saviour was born, but we do know, according to scriptures, in Luke 1:26-38 that He was born! So let us enjoy this time of year no matter what comes our way.
I talked with Mr. Jimmy Ruth on Friday; he wanted me to tell everyone to have a Merry Christmas and to keep him in your prayers.
Well, this year is coming to an end very rapidly; we have less than a week in 2020. People have said, “I will be so glad when 2020 is gone!” What I say back to them is, “Well, I do not know what the future holds. I just know who holds the future. It will be what we make of it.”
Congratulations to the Holiday family! We have a new addition. Our son Captain Frank Holiday (Army) and his lovely bride Raphaela was united in marriage on Dec. 17 in Savannah, Ga. We are so proud to have another daughter. Our family is growing and that is a blessing.
The city would like to say Merry Christmas to everyone at Southern Oats Assisting Living, Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center (Nursing Home), Heritage Towers, to all of our businesses in Henderson, the Police Department and Fire Department, healthcare providers, caregivers, workers performing mortuary funeral service, military and all of our essential workers. So many of you have put your life on hold to help others! While many of us are being told to stay at home, these workers have a responsibility during the outbreak to continue operations, potentially putting their lives in danger by contracting COVID-19. Some of these people work behind the scenes without the general public knowing what it is like. So let’s do our part to help. Wear a mask when we are out an about. We can not say it enough – we appreciate our essential workers. THANK YOU! And we pray you have a Merry Christmas!
If you live in the City of Henderson and have news about your families, birthdays, anniversaries, announcements or things happening in the City, I need to hear from you. Call me at -989-1907/608-6132 and leave a message.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
