Greetings to the People of Chester County everywhere!
For this is a new week and a new year, and I give thanks to the Lord for being with you in your home, at your job or wherever you find time to read the Independent. It is just great to be part of your life. For this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! I hope you are enjoying the New Year. How was your week? I hope and pray it was a great one. If your week was not good for whatever reason, just remember you have the power to turn it around and make it better even with the pandemic.
Some of you wanted to know why I did not have my article in the paper. The reason why is that I took some time out of my busy schedule to spend with my family. Last year was so different. There was a split this year from the children coming home for Christmas because of the pandemic. They did not want to take the chance of bringing COVID-19 to their parents. My husband and I enjoyed Zoom chatting and having fun with the ones that were here. We had a blessed time celebrating the reason for the season, our Savior’s birth! I hope you also made the best of it!
Well, 2020 is gone, and 2021 has arrived. What does it bring? It brings a great opportunity to renew our faith and love for God, Country and each other! According to 2 Corinthians 5:17, “The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” Let us release the bitterness and frustrations of the past year. Let us know that God loves us and wants the best for us. So let us pray that the New Year will be a change focused on healing the land and ourselves. This is my prayer for the year of 2021.

The City of Henderson is so saddened about the closing of Southern Prep Academy of Henderson, the daycare/afterschool center. I know families that had their child/children in the center, and they will miss it. City of Henderson, let us keep them up in our prayers that financing will come and they be able to reopen their doors.
