Hello to my family and friends. For this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! This is a new week, and in a few days, we will have a new month, another month for new beginnings, new thoughts and a new opportunity to do things better, but most of all, it is a blessing to be with you on this week. Most of you know that my sweet little mother Annie Brown went to be with Lord on March 20, 2018. It is always a blessed time for the family because we realize mother is in a wonderful place. We will love and miss her until the Lord calls us home.
I missed being with you last week, but I had a wonderful time with our two-month old grandson in the state of Georgia. Like I always say – take time out for your family. As a grandparent, I love it! At two months old, my grandson looked at me and was smiling and cooing. Guess what he said to me? “I love you, nanna!” and I told little Frank, I love him as well. My children do not believe the conversation we had! However, I know my grandson and I had a wonderful conversation! You know the statement we always say, “We should have had the grandchildren first!” My husband and I had a wonderful time with our family. Little Frank’s dad, U.S. Army Captain Frank, is overseas severing our country. Please keep our son and all of the soldiers, men and women, in your prayers.
The month of April will be here on Friday. It is the time when the cuckoo and swallow arrive to let us know that spring is in the air. I do believe I heard them singing one day this week. I could be wrong; maybe I was just happy to hear the birds singing.
April 1 is known as April Fools’ Day and, well, it is celebrated every year by playing practical jokes and spreading hoaxes. If you play a joke on your family or friends, please make sure it is safe and that no one will get hurt.
Did you know World Autism Awareness Day is on April 2? This is a day when organizations around the world hold special events to raise funding and awareness of autism. April is also Child Abuse Prevention Month/Child Abuse Awareness Month. The City of Henderson would like to take this time to say thank you to the Chester County Carl Perkins Center; we appreciate the hard work you do for children and families to help prevent child abuse here in Henderson.
The city would like to say Happy Birthday to Desmond Ingram, March 31; Larry Day, April 2; Brooke Emerson, April 4; and Amy Edwards, April 9. May the Lord bless all of you on your special day!
Remember to pray for the Howard, Croom and the Bass family. In addition, pray for the sick and shut-in, our children, teachers and families, the men and women who are serving our country and those incarcerated.
Remember to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can.
If you live in the City of Henderson and have news about your family, birthday, anniversary, announcements, and things happening in the City, I need to hear from you. Call me at 608-6132 and leave your message, or you may email me at HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
