Greetings from the City! I hope you had a wonderful week. The first thing I would like to do is give thanks to the Lord for another week. Psalms 107:1 states, “O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good: for His mercy endureth for ever.”
It is always great to be with you one more week. For this is the day the Lord has made. My little saying for today read, “As men and women, we are much more than pretty and handsome, we are much more than likeable, we are deeply loved. We are much more than okay, we are sons and daughters of the King. We are Already Amazing.” I just wanted to share that with you on today!
The City of Henderson says CONGRATULATIONS to all of the elected candidates. We pray that you will have a successful and safe journey as you accept your position to represent the people of Chester County. Congratulations!
Next Monday, Aug. 15, will be the first day of class for all seven counties of Head Start: Chester, Decatur, Hardin, Hardeman, Haywood, Henderson and McNairy. It is not too late to enroll your child. If he/she will be three or four years old by Aug. 15, 2022, stop by any of the Head Start buildings in any one of the counties for more information or call 989-5111 and ask for the Head Start department; you can also go on the website swhrahs.org. Every county still needs children.
Congratulations to a very beautiful young couple who celebrated 14 years of marriage on Aug. 10. They have two lovely daughters. The dad spends 3/4 of his time on the ball field with his daughters while the mom is making sure they look like little models at the same time. To Dantrail and Summer Brown, we pray that you will celebrate and have many more anniversaries together. Like I always say, “Keep the honey in the moon,” and remember a family that prays together stays together! Your father, the late Danny Brown, would be so proud of you and your wife!
The other day, I received word that our dear friend John Riley Barham is in the hospital. I do not know what is going on with him, but the Lord knows! Keep him up in your prayers that the Lord will heal his body. Also, pray for Ms. Anna Huddleston that the Lord will heal her as well!
Our condolences go out to the family of Ms. Valerie Griggs. Her brother Melvin Thomas, was called home on Sunday, Aug. 7. The City of Henderson is praying for you and the family. He is a special person and will be sorely missed. We pray that you will find peace during this difficult time in life.
One of our co-writers, Ms. Pasty Jones, celebrated her 71 birthday on Aug. 9. She is a person that I do love and admire for her friendship! The city of Henderson is proud to wish you a Happy Birthday! We pray that you will be blessed to have many more!
Continue to pray for our United States of America. Remember to pray for our college students that are traveling to the college of their choice to make a safe arrival.
Try to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can.
If you live in the City of Henderson and have news about your family, birthday, anniversary, announcements, and things happening in the City, I need to hear from you; call me at 608-6132 and leave your message, or you may email me at gloria__holiday@msn.com.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
