Greetings! I am glad to be with you for another week. It is only by the grace of our Lord and Savior. For this is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! Since the last time we were together, there has been so much destruction in the U.S.A., such as floods, fires and hurricanes. Some of us had families that lived through the devastation of these natural events and disasters, and some families did not. Many have lost everything they owned and have no food and no water, so no matter what is going on in your life today, look around and realize you/we are blessed!
Here is a little reading that I love and would like to share it with you. The name of it is “A Lot of Walking Away Will Do Your Life Good” by Dodinsky – “Walk away from arguments that lead you to anger and nowhere. Walk away from people who deliberately put you down. Walk away from the practice of pleasing people who choose to never see your worth. Walk away from any thought that undermines your peace of mind. Walk away from judgmental people; they do not know the struggle you are facing and what you have been through. Walk away from your mistakes and fear, they do not determine your fate. The more you walk away from things that poison your soul, the healthier your life will be.”
On Sept. 23, LaWanna and I went to Nashville for her check-up about her heart. So many of you know what we have been going through, but the God we serve is a GOOD GOD! Her result after the testing came back, and it was a great report; she does not have to wear the life vests anymore, and she does not need a heart defibrillator! Her heart is much stronger! To God be the Glory! Thank you for all of your prayers!
Last weekend, the Henderson/Chester County Chamber of Commerce kicked off 44th Annual Chester County Barbeque Festival. It was a great event. The City of Henderson and the surrounding county would like to say thank you to Blake Hopper and his staff for an outstanding festival this year.
Nov. 8 is voting day. If you are not registered to vote or need to update your voting information, Oct. 11 is last day to do so. If you are 18 years old or older, go to your local Election Office, 133 East Main Street, Henderson, or call 989-4039 for more information.
On the birthday list this week: a big Happy Birthday to Larry Locke, 9/30; he is proud to be 74 years young! He is the proud husband of Margaret Locke. Larry, you are still moving and looking good. Your wife, daughter, family and friends are praying that the Lord will bless you with many more! Have a blessed birthday.
On the prayer list this week: pray for our loved ones who are in the hospitals, for the ones who are sick in their homes, for our children, teachers, families and for the men and women who are serving our country.
Remember to patronize with our local businesses here in town; let us try to support our own as much as we can. I would like to say thank you to the ones who are calling and emailing me with your news; keep it up and send me more.
If you live in the City of Henderson and have news about your family, birthday, anniversary, announcements, and things happening in the City, I need to hear from you. Call me at 608-6132 and leave your message, or you may email me at gloria__holiday@msn.com.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
