Greetings from Hickory Corner!
Today is Monday and talk about a cloudy day! The temperature has been in the upper 60s with no sunshine. Maybe the sun will come out tomorrow and brighten our day, but Joel Barnes is not offering much hope for that; although he has predicted nice weather for Memorial Day weekend.
While we are having our picnics and family gatherings this Memorial Day, remember what this day is all about. Memorial Day is a day set aside to honor all those brave men and women who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
HCC Center held their monthly meeting a week early on May 19 due to some officers who could not attend a later meeting. It was time once again to elect officers for the coming year.
Elected were President – Philip Cranford, Vice President – Steve Blackstock, Secretary – Diane Clayton, Treasurer – Sarah Holmes and Trustees – Joe Holmes, Alfred Garner and Donnie Patterson. Thanks to these folks who are willing to give their time to the center.
It is once again time to renew your annual membership to the center. Dues are $25 per family and due in May. Please mail your check to Sarah Holmes at 720 Holmes Rd., Henderson TN 38340. I hope all of our members will renew, and we welcome new members. Our center is a place where we gather for fun, food and fellowship. Do not miss out!
If you would like to rent the HCC Center for your special event, please call Nancy Patterson at 608-1159.
Remember in prayer Arlin Porter, Richy Butler, Ladelle Clark, Mildred Smith, Martha Autry, Ann Morrison, Bonice Martin, Peggy Whitman, Peggy Lard, William and Eddie Luttrell and Donna Lynch. Continue to pray for each other, our country and our world. Sympathy to all those who have recently lost loved ones. If you would like to add or remove a name from our prayer list, please call me.
We have witnessed much change in our world over the last few years: the pandemic, war, climate change and so much more. So this devotion seems appropriate for today:
“In a World of unrelenting changes, I am the One who never changes, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Find in Me the stability for which you have yearned. I created a beautifully ordered world: one that reflects My perfection. Now, however, the world is under the bondage of sin and evil. Every person on the planet faces gaping jaws of uncertainty. The only antidote to this poisonous threat is drawing closer to Me. In my Presence you can face uncertainty with perfect Peace.” (Revelations 222:13; Romans 5:12; John 16:33) from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young.
I need all of your support for this article. Please call me with tidbits and news at 989-3315. You can share your vacations, birthday, anniversaries and much more!
Make it a great week!
