Greetings from Hickory Corner!
Hope to see you Saturday at the Hickory Corner Community Center! Remember that starting at 5 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 22, is the potluck meal at the Hickory Corner Community Center. The Community Center will provide the baked ham, so please bring your favorite side dish and/or dessert. Of course, we will be playing bingo and trivia. Please bring wrapped gifts for bingo prizes. Come and enjoy the fun, good food and fellowship.
My niece Donna Patterson McAllister and Ed Hodgkins of Pekin, Ill., were here for a visit. They hosted a get together for the Patterson family at their cabin at Chickasaw on Saturday, Oct. 15. Around 25 attended. Everyone enjoyed the good food and fellowship and sharing memories of the years gone by. Stan, the son of the late Ray Patterson, had everyone laughing as always. He sure reminds me of his father. Also, Amy Lofton daughter of Pam Sanders Clayton had us laughing with her memories.
Last week, I stopped by Kenneth and Teresa Burkhead’s home in Hickory Corner. Not only is the outside spooky but their inside is spooky, too. When I got to the porch, I saw some big snakes laying across the porch, and even though I knew they were fake, my heart still raced, and I let out a small scream. If you know me, you know I hate snakes! Inside, there were scary people sitting at the dining table and a big man in a black suit as a waiter. Thank you, Kenneth and Teresa, for all you do so others can enjoy your creativity. I encourage you to drive by with your family and look at the outside. Very creepy.
Remember in prayer Richy Butler, Ladelle Clark, Mildred Smith, Martha Autry, Ann Morrison, Bonice Martin, Peggy Whitman, Peggy Lard, William and Eddie Luttrell and Donna Lynch. Continue to pray for each other, our country and our world. Also, sympathy to all those who have recently lost loved ones. If you would like to add or remove a name from our prayer list, please call me.
