I am enjoying company this week with my son, Terry. Monday was a beautiful day, so he and I spent some time working outside in the yard. Looks like some nice weather is forecasted for the weekend. Groundhog Day is Sunday. Here is to hoping the groundhog does not see his shadow, and we can have an early Spring.
Mark your calendars! The HCCC will host their annual Valentine Party beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8. Join us for an evening of fun, food, and fellowship. Please bring a favorite soup, sandwiches, salad or dessert to share. There will be Crowning of Royalty and bingo. Please bring wrapped prizes for our bingo game. As always, everyone is welcomed at our Center.
Watching the news of what is going on in the world can be upsetting. Sometimes, we need to turn off the television or radio, put down our phones and quiet our minds and our hearts. We need to wind down and find our peace with God. God alone can give us peace and everlasting love. No amount of bad news can change the truth about the Good News, the Eternal Gospel and peace with God through Christ.
Remember those on our prayer list: Elvie Lee Sanders, Arlan Porter, Walt and Ann Bennett, Richy Butler, Ronnie and Ladelle Clark, Mildred Smith, Mary Alice and Martha Autry, Ann Morrison, Bonice Martin, Peggy Whitman, Sue Greene, Jim Ruth, W.T. Roland, Peggy Lard, William Maness, Buck Burkhead, and remember all the caregivers. The community extends sympathy to the family of Joy Mae Oliver and all others who have lost loved ones.
