It looks like it is going to be another hot week with highs in the 90s. So be careful if you are outside for very long. Drink plenty of fluids and do not forget your pets need plenty of fresh water, too.
So many heartbreaking stories in the news after the devastating flooding this past Saturday in Waverly. With over 22 deaths and many people still missing, I ask that all of you pray for the families affected and those involved in rescue. Such a tragedy.
The Masseyville Volunteer Fire Department has cancelled their annual fundraiser scheduled on Labor Day. If you would like to donate to the fire department, mail your donation to Donny Patterson 570 Hickory Corner Road, Henderson TN 38340.
Hearts to Kim Hearn who rang my doorbell on Sunday and delivered me dinner. Thank you, Kim, for your thoughtfulness. I sure enjoyed my meal.
I have always been a fan of country music. Country singer and songwriter Tom T. Hall, passed away on 8/20/21 at the age of 85 in Franklin. He wrote many popular songs including Harper Valley PTA and was also known as “The Storyteller.” Also, Don Everly of the Everly Brothers died at the age of 84 on 8/21/2021. A few songs from the 1950s you may remember include “Bye Bye Love” and “Wake Up Little Susie.” (New York Times)
