I want to send out a huge Thank You to my friend Beth Everett for all the work she does for Cookies for Cancer and for the award she presented me last Friday for Mother of the Year for 2022. Congratulations to the family of Ms. Jean King for her being chosen as Honorary Mother of the year. This lady was an exceptional mother to more than just her own children. She was loved by many and is greatly missed in this community. I also want to say a huge thank you to all the local merchants that are helping support this cause with their kind donations to help Beth with these awards. Chester County is a great place to show love and support for its community.
I am sad to say we are all saying our goodbyes to Mr. Rory Jones, owner of R. Jones Underground, as I write this article today. Mr. Rory had lived and worked in this community for many years and was known and loved by many throughout the community. I came to work for him and Ms. Linda in 2015, and I feel like a part of their family. They have included me in ways not all employers would but most of all have shown me much appreciation throughout my time here, and I have always tried to say thank you. I am grateful to all his family, and I am requesting much needed prayer for them during this time of loss. Until we meet again, Mr. Rory.
Our center is in need of several upgrades, and if anyone within the community would like to get involved, help with some repair work or just make some larger monetary donations for those purposes, it would all be much appreciated. Montezuma sends out happy birthday wishes to John Cody Moore on May 12, Ruth Ann Shearon on May 14, Nick Burns and Emily Colbert on May 15 and Jaret Hornbeak on May 17.
With so much unrest in our country, I pray that each of you believers will be praying continually for our government and salvation for the lost. Please pray for those dealing with stomach virus, Nancy Thomas, Jennifer Paton, Imogene Naylor, Joyce Beecham, Dwight Rhodes, Lill Emerson, Betty Porter, Karon Connor Reinmann, Larry Lambert, Samantha Stark, Nancy Crouse, Kolby Cunningham, Martha Cooper, Jake Richardson, Ashley Pugh, Faye Morrison, Doug Thomas, Ann Morrison, Faye Crouse, Ed Morris, Healthcare Workers and Law Enforcement. We especially want to remember the families of Rory Jones, Sr., Evelyn Borden and other families that have recently lost loved ones. May God provide healing to those that are sick and wisdom to those that may need it for life decisions.
