Please take the time to stop and say a special prayer on Dec. 7 to remember Pearl Harbor – a day that changed our history and lives forever. Praying that all had a good Thanksgiving. I would like to extend a huge thank you to those of you who prayed, called, visited and outpoured your love for my son and his children and the rest of our family during the recent loss of his wife and the kids’ mom, Catherine Mae ‘Katie’ Hornbeak. This past week has been difficult and somewhat of a blur, but I do remember all those who reached out to us and who are continuing to do so. In case some of you do not know, Chester County has some amazing and caring teachers. The love and giving they poured out to my grandchildren was amazing. All the food that was brought during the week and for the service was great and helped to relieve the added stress we would have had to think about meals and cook them. Katie will be missed greatly by those she touched in life but mostly by her husband, children, father and brother. Please continue to remember us all in your prayers, and we go through this holiday season, which was her favorite time of year.
Have you been to Thomas Grocery lately? New owners Jason and Tonya Self are trying to vamp up the business, and Jason is working on the kitchen side to provide good food for the locals and travelers through our area. Go by and say hello and welcome to them and support the store to keep it a part of our little community.
Montezuma sends out happy birthday wishes to Jacob Beshires and Ann Patterson on Dec. 2, James Morrison, Jr. and Nicky Richardson on Dec. 3, Josh Quarles on Dec. 4, Patience Cook on Dec. 7 and Zachary Thomas on Dec. 9. Montezuma sends out happy anniversary wishes to John and Ann Moore on Dec. 9.
With so much unrest in our country, I pray that each of you believers will be praying continually for the our government and salvation for the lost. Please pray for Richard Atkins, Martha Cooper, Jake Richardson, Ashley Pugh, Billy Austin, Jake Holt Burkhead, Faye Morrison, Joyce Beecham, Doug Thomas, Tavish and Lachlan Cox, Ann Morrison, Jessie Pugh, Faye Crouse, Ed and Betty Morris, healthcare workers and law enforcement.
We especially want to remember the families of Timothy Landers, Gail Colbert Durbin, Gary Hyatt, Katie Hornbeak, Jo Marie Holmes, Joe “Fig” Newton, Glenda Randles, Lillie Bell Emerson and other families that have recently lost loved ones.
Please call Betty Cooper at 879-9078 to book the use of the community center.
