Hello to all! I hope everyone is doing okay and staying home. This past Sunday was Palm Sunday. The sky was a beautiful blue, the sun was out and birds were chirping. Things were really greening up. We are doing things outside now. Staying home does have many benefits. One is you can get things done if you can motivate yourself. We can read a book, wash clothes, cook more (I know many do not like this part) or play games. James and I play hand and foot, and some like computer games. We can send a card to someone or take time to call someone and check on them. There are many things we can do; use your imagination. Appreciate life. Every day of life is a wonderful gift with many blessings. Write down your blessings. You may find that there are more than you thought and also remember to add those that are unseen – they are always there.
I pray this COVID-19 leaves soon. I think our county has more cases. I am very thankful that Todd Lewis has recovered from his battle with it and now can be with his family and focus on recuperation. The media reports the urgency of this virus and reports more negative than anything. We must try to practice the things the CDC says to do and remember God is in control. Pray. Pray more than once a day. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13
We are missing church as many are, but we are fortunate that Bro. Glenn – and many others – are now posting sermons online. We need this and other things especially during this time of separation from others and all the problems that go with it.
Here is a little update on Bandit, Billy Joe Seaton’s new fur-baby. He is loving life at his new home. He has found three escape areas for his owner to fix so he can he stay safe. He may have to have Houdini added to his name. He has new toys he plays with. If he goes to the grocery store, watch your bags – he will get treats out before it is time. He enjoys walks with his master (who has mastered whom)? He thinks everything is a toy or something to eat for example a DVD – oops! He loves to chase a water hose, which required another walk to dry him out. He is keeping his owner very busy and happy. Aah…life is good.
Charles Stanley spoke Sunday morning about holy inadequacy. Always be aware that God can do anything He wants to do any place and anywhere and that I may never get to a place in life where I go above that sense of holy inadequacy. God wants us to remain dependent on Him because He knows that we will only reach our full potential by living with a sense of holy inadequacy, trusting Him to be our adequacy for everything in life. Inadequacy enables us to live in contentment and quietness. If I sense Jesus is my adequacy, I don’t have to struggle. Psalm 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, Psalm 46:10 – Cease striving and know that I am God. Striving creates conflict, questions, doubts and fears. God wants us to have contentment and joy.

“Claim Him” by Diane Ranker Riesen – “Don’t let such evils get you – don’t let the bad guys win/wrap God’s strength around you…before your day begins/This world can knock you to your knees, and try to steal your ‘joy’/but God has greater plans for you – just trust Him and ‘enjoy’/Have God wrap His arms around you – soon as you awake/and face the day with strengthened power…so you will never break/And when the worst of circumstances hover round you close/remember who is Mightier…and trust His power the most/We are the children of a King – the Healer of our pains/Who whispers and controls the world…He’ll help us once again/May His power guard your day and comfort every trial/and may we be content to know He’s with us all the while/Step out into your new day – and claim your Maker’s power/find such relief in knowing that He’s with you every hour/The evils of this world will lose much power over you/If you claim God’s great Mightiness…in everything you do.
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. We are not answering numbers we do not recognize due to the high number of robocalls. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
