Hello to everyone! Today is Sunday, June 19. The sun is shining, the sky is a beautiful blue with an occasional breeze noted and no clouds are noticed. It is 87 degrees and feels like it – thankful. I do not remember when the last rain was, but it would be a welcome sight. A drought is a prolonged shortage for as few as 15 days per Google. I think we qualify. I sure hope the farmers do good this year, considering the weather and the cost of seed and other things they require to produce. As I said, a farmer has to plant with as much knowledge that is given to them, but FAITH is the biggest requirement in my book, and that is from a former city girl.
It is Father’s Day, and I wish all daddies a great day. I hope you all had a good day and felt appreciated for ALL you do. I also give kudos to the single parents who are doing both parents’ jobs. Life itself is a very difficult job. And to all the children out there who have just one parent regardless why, you are loved. There are many who care for and love you. YOU are special; God made you.
Thanks to Mike Lecornu and his crew for getting our air conditioning fixed. It was the compressor, and I thank the good Lord it was in warranty! Freon is outrageous! I am also thankful there was a compressor available. We never know nowadays with shortages everywhere. One more thing, why is it so many jobs are paying better but nobody wants to work? Just about everywhere is working short handed.
We know several people that have had COVID. Please social distance, use hand sanitizer and mask up if that is required or your preference. I hope we can keep this disease at bay forever.
Happy Birthday to Jackson Fahs, 6-21.
Happy anniversary to Misti and Jeremy Ellis, 6-22.
Please continue to remember these in prayer Randy Baker, Sheila Berry, Joe Bingham, Marie Bishop, Robert and Joyce Brewer, J.T. and Jeanette Butler, Janet Butler, Jackie Chambers, Ann English, Johnny Hays, Anita and Larry Lambert, Doris McKinney, LaVelle Page, Beth Plunk, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Todd Rencher, Jake Richardson, David Tucker, Tony Tucker and Adam Wise. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer; even if you do not know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
“On Wings of Love” by Helen Steiner Rice – “The priceless gift of life is love/For with the help of God above/Love can change the human race/And make this world a better place/For love dissolves all hate and fear/And makes our vision bright and clear/So we can see and rise above/Our pettiness on wings of love.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
