Hello to everyone from this little corner of the world! I hope you are all well and have a cool place to stay. The sky was a light blue with white clouds on Sunday. Our birds are happy, and the hummers are chasing each other. We have two feeders, and James keeps them supplied and clean. We have had a lot of thornless blackberries and now have quite a few tomatoes. The jalapeno peppers are very slow to grow for some reason this year. Maybe it is too humid for them. It looks like the farmers that chose cotton were smart. How did they plan their crops for this weather? I think corn would be burning up. I have not seen any yet although the news says because of the war in Ukraine there will be a shortage of it. The temperature at the time of this writing was 95 degrees with a feel like temperature of 105 degrees. Please drink plenty of water and give pets fresh water and shade if outside. With this heat, please monitor them; even they can die from the heat.
We are entering our last week of July. The forecast is calling for a good chance of rain beginning Thursday through Monday. Our BIG yard is mowed, and I am ready for some rain! I even posted the sound of rain on Facebook a few days ago. God will send it when He is ready. Also, the temperatures are supposed to be in the 80s during the potential rainy days. I am so looking forward to the lower 80s and 70s. I sure pray we do not have as hard a winter as we have had a summer.
Happy birthday to Tiffany Knipper, 7-25; Boyd Cupples, 7-26; Jordan Ross, 7-27; Cody Butler, 7-30; and Cissy Nichols and Dylan King, 7-31.
Happy anniversary to Tiffany and Jonathan Knipper, 7-29.
Please continue to remember these in prayer: Randy Baker, Sheila Berry, Joe Bingham, Marie Bishop, Robert and Joyce Brewer, J.T. and Jeanette Butler, Jackie Chambers, LaVelle Page, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Logan Rencher, Todd Rencher, Jake Richardson, Donald Rowlett, David Tucker, Tony Tucker and Adam Wise and the Frances Smith family. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer; even if you do not know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
“He is Bigger” by unknown – “When the weight of uncertainty lies heavily on my shoulders, I glance at the stars and envision far beyond what I see – the complexity and enormity of the universe. How humbling it is to know that compared to it all, I am nothing but a speck of dust in this vast universe the Lord has created. And, though my troubles may feel as enormous as the universe itself, I remember God is much bigger than all of it; in His presence, I rest.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
