Hello again from our little corner of the world. The sky was a gorgeous blue with beautiful puffy, white clouds on Saturday. We mowed the BIG yard Thursday when it was partly cloudy. The Lord sent light, cool breezes as we mowed. What a blessing, and I thanked Him as I mowed. I thank Him many times for many things, including the eyesight to see the green trees and the beautiful birds. We were able to get all the mowing done and had not been inside 15 minutes until it began to rain. Another blessing. James still has a little weed eating to do but not as much as before. Our hummers continue to visit. This next week, there are predictions for some rain but also highs in the 80s. I am thrilled with lower temperatures.
We have several birthdays this month. Birthdays are wonderful; enjoy while you can!
Decoration Day at Mifflin Baptist Church is observed the second Sunday in August – this coming Sunday!
We are enjoying following “Heartland” and “Virgin River” on Netflix. These are different shows with seasons and episodes to follow. They are wholesome, and I find them to be family friendly. James has found a news outlet he streams which is Real America’s Voice on channel 194 on Roku. We were fortunate to be able to get Aeneas internet and now stream. We do not pay a cable bill every month. There are many things to choose from now compared to what we were paying for less options. We also changed our cell phones for better deals. All in all, we are saving money but with more benefits. Everything is so high.
We did go to Jackson Saturday, and it seems everyone else had similar ideas. It was a mad, mad world out there. Remember that all August in Tennessee is “tax free” on groceries. YAY!
Happy belated birthday to Brandon Pounds, 8-5!
Happy birthday to Joyce Brewer, 8-7; Jeremy Ellis and Pat Nobles Jones, 8-9; Timothy Berry, 8-10; and Justin Bishop, Pat Connor and Vance Connor, 8-11.
Happy Anniversary to Bliss and Shaun Swayne, 8-8.
Please continue to remember these in prayer – Randy Baker, Sheila Berry, Joe Bingham, Marie Bishop, Robert and Joyce Brewer, J.T. and Jeanette Butler, Jackie Chambers, Eva Jones, Doris McKinney, LaVelle Page, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Logan Rencher, Todd Rencher, Jake Richardson, Donald Rowlett, David Tucker, Tony Tucker and Adam Wise. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer; even if you do not know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
“God said…Relax and Trust Me. I am very aware of your hardships and everything you are facing. I know you feel unsure of how you’ll make it. Don’t lose your faith in Me. You or your family will never go without. I have always carried you and made a way. Look to Me in your weakness and I will give you My strength. You aren’t alone in any of this. Stop worrying and live your best life. I am here. All is well. Amen.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
