Hello to all from this little corner of the world. It was a sunny day on Sunday with blue skies, a very slight breeze and a temperature of 37 degrees. Our little birds are really visiting the feeders with this cold weather, and colder weather is headed this way. The weather forecast is calling for temperatures at night to be 13 degrees Thursday night and five degrees Friday and Saturday night. The forecast is calling for probable precipitation on Thursday and windy Friday, which will only make it feel colder. We should be back up above freezing Monday if nothing changes. I hope everyone has enough wood to burn or a heat source available. Also, remember the pets outside. Please be sure they have shelter and wood shavings, straw or something to help with warmth and water. The frigid nights would be wonderful for them to be brought in for the night.
I hope everyone has a great Christmas! We are only ONE week away from a new year. Life goes on regardless of what we are dealing with.
I have learned that it makes life more pleasant for everyone and it is more peaceful if I try and just go with the flow. I do not get in a tizzy about much anymore. I just try to leave it all to God and do my best every day. I plan things, but if it falls through, I continue on. Life changes, and it is best to roll with it. We will have terrible and horrible times, but eventually with time, the sadness or distress leaves for a while. Life is a gift, and we are to live it good or bad. We have and still endure the loss of our child, but I just remember all Jesus went through, and He was Perfect. Why should we not experience troubles here on earth? I wish you all a Merry Christmas and pray the New Year will be kind to us all. God bless.
We lost a dear church member this week – Mrs. Joyce Brewer. She was Joyce Hart prior to this. She was a very precious lady with a sweet smile. Children seemed drawn to her. She was quiet in nature. She was married to Robert Brewer, and she had two daughters. She will be deeply missed. Also, condolences to all who have lost a loved one.
Happy birthday to Derrith Cooper and Ann Hinson, 12-20; Paula McKinney, 12-21; Shelia Smith, 12-23; and Nona Seaton, 12-24.
Happy anniversary to Sarah and Don McLemore, 12-22.
Please continue to remember these in prayer: Randy Baker, Dana Berry, Shelia Berry, Joe Bingham, Marie Bishop, Robert Brewer, J.T Butler, Jackie Chambers, Pat Connor, Shirley Kendrick, Martha Mainord, Kenneth Maness, Adisyn Matthews, Debbie Morris, LaVelle Page, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Ann Pusser, Logan Rencher, Todd Rencher, Jake Richardson, Donald Rowlett, Dwain Seaton, Jr., Cathy Sisson, Alice and Buddy Stovall, Kevin Thurman, David Tucker, Tony Tucker, and Adam Wise. Also, pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and first responders
“If Christmas is hard/If you’ve lost someone dear/Just look in your heart/And you’ll know they’re still here/The star in the sky/The light falling snow/The robin outside/It seems like they know/If this is a time/When you’re struggling through/Just do what you can/For what matters is you/There’s no need to be merry/There’s no need to be bright/Just do what you can/It will be alright.” – Lorna Gibson
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
