Hello to all from this little corner of the world.
We had some sunshine and blue skies on Thursday. The temperature was in the 60s. Mother Nature has surely had a hard time lately. Most of the country suffered through storms, snow, ice, burst pipes and frigid temperatures. Sadly, there was loss of life. Now, this week, the forecast is for it to be mostly in the 60s with lows in the 50s and rain off and on. I sure can handle this weather better, and the utility bills will be better. Thankful for a little break. I missed last week as some may have noticed. I hope everyone had a good Christmas. We were together with my sister and her family on Christmas Eve. Her granddaughter Pepper and our great-granddaughter were so cute together. Pepper is four, and Laiken is two. Thankfully, none were sick. I pray everyone is well and made it home safely if they traveled far.
Condolences to all who have lost loved ones. There is NEVER a good time for it or finality. The finality is the hardest thing to accept, or at least it has been for me. I pray the New Year will be kind to us all. A girl I went to school with at SouthSide High in Jackson passed away Dec. 26. She graduated in 1973. I remember her as a sweet person and a majorette. She was great at baton throwing! Prayers for her family.
I know that all those with the educational system, along with the students, are glad to be on Christmas break. I think they return on Jan. 4. I hope you all can buckle down and get back in the groove when school returns.

“In the middle of every storm, there is the calm. Down the hardest roads to travel, will be moments to catch your breath. No matter how deep the ocean, there will be a way to cross it. No matter the storm, no matter the obstacle…faith in God will always be the only way to endure and overcome anything!” – Debbie R. Lachin
