Hello to all from this little corner of the world. The skies were gray, and there was no breeze on Sunday with a temperature of 53 degrees. The lows for this week will mostly be in the 30s and a possibility of some snow Feb. 2. Also, there is a chance of rain for several days. Again, it all depends on Mother Nature. Some have told me they have daffodils and crocus coming up. I think we have had a moderate winter thus far. Enjoy your week and stay safe and well.
I am sure most of you are aware of the sickness that is out there. Many times, people are with others only to find out later they are sick. It cannot be helped. We had that happen, but so far, we are ok. The other person was fine when we saw them. Please be careful when out in public. Please wear a mask if you are in a crowd. If someone coughs or sneezes, I do not want their germs floating my way. Again, that is me. I do believe in social distancing and using antibacterial gel if you cannot wash your hands. Use after pumping gas, getting into your car, etc. Alas, some are going to get the “bug” no matter what they do. We have several we know that have COVID and one that has the flu with COVID. She has been sick as a dog. Pray for protection from illness and for others that are sick.
We had a good crowd at Friendship Baptist Sunday and enjoyed a very good sermon, Do You Know Jesus as Your Savior? II Timothy 1: 12-14, John 1:3 and Matthew 25:21 were a few of the bible scriptures used in the sermon. We would love to see you there any Sunday that works for you. We hope to be a light in the darkness for others and show others the love of God. We do not have to dress fancy. The Lord just wants us to love Him and learn about Him.
Happy birthday to Alvin Jones, 1-29; Piper Fahs, 2-1; Billy Joe Seaton, 2-3; and Jesse Fisher, Kayla Barham and Katelynn Phelps, 2-4.
Happy anniversary to Allison and Dalton Roe, 2-3, and Elaine and Paul Bozza, 2-4.
Please continue to remember these in prayer: Sheila Berry, Joe Bingham, Marie Bishop, Robert Brewer, Jackie Chambers, Shirley Kendrick, Martha Mainord, Adisyn Matthews, Janeane Moore, Debbie Morris, LaVelle Page, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Logan Rencher, Todd Rencher, Jake Richardson, Jeff Sells, Cathy Sisson, Kevin Thurman, David Tucker, Tony Tucker and Adam Wise. Also, pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and first responders.
“Keeping On” by Anonymous – “I’ve dreamed many a dream that never came true/I’ve seen this vanish at dawn/But I’ve realized enough of my dreams, thank God/To make me want to dream on/I’ve prayed many prayers when no answer came/Though I waited patient and long/But answers have come to enough of my prayers/To make me want to keep praying on/I’ve trusted many a friend that failed/And left me to weep alone/But I found enough of my friends true blue/To make me keep trusting on/I’ve sown many seed that fell by the way/For the birds to feed upon/But I’ve held enough golden sheaves in my hands/To make me keep sowing on/I’ve drained the cup of disappointment and pain/And gone many days without song/But I’ve sipped enough nectar from the roses of life/To make me want to live on.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings.
Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
