Hello to all from this little corner of the world. The sky was a blue-gray with white-gray clouds on Monday, and the temperature was 76 degrees. Our tulip tree survived the high winds and is now showing budding leaves. One of our Bradford pears did not fare as well. We are enjoying the warmer, sunnier weather but remember cooler weather is still in the forecast. Maybe when the rain is out of the forecast for a while we can begin to prepare outside for the usual things after winter. Hope everyone is okay after the storm.
We were out of town this past weekend. We enjoyed visiting with an old friend from younger days and her family for her 69th birthday. Their son and his family were there, her two sisters (one from Washington state) and the other’s boyfriend, two little granddaughters and one more on the way. Also, can’t leave out their yorkiepoo, Swayze, and their son’s furbaby, a Goldendoodle named Honey. We spent the day eating and driving around different areas in town, and later that night, we enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner prepared by her husband. We had a rib eye steak supper and desserts, which included strawberry pies. We were very blessed in many ways and ended our trip with breakfast out with the family before leaving. We hope to return again this year. It has been at least four or five years and COVID since we were there last. We could not have enjoyed anything more.
Condolences to Nancy Morris and family on the loss of her husband David. Also, to others who have lost loved ones.

“How can I know that while I lived, my life counted for something…that this spirit that has taken over my soul and compelled me to serve beyond my capacity…has enabled me to love beyond the measure of man. And my heart will be judged by a perfect one and found lacking…and that is when grace shall take me HOME.” – Nancy Veldman
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
