Hello to all from this little corner of the world.
It was warm on Thursday with an occasional breeze blowing. We had beautiful sunshine, and the weather forecast calls for pretty weather until maybe next weekend. We have been busy in our “yard.” The flower bed out back is finished with mulch, and we have one smaller one to go. I still have to put out a few bulbs. These armadillos are killing us. James found a huge hole in the back today. Squirrels need to find a new home. They should stay in the woods. Our warbler is still nesting; bless her heart.
Memorial Day will have come and gone by the time you read this. I hope that everyone remembered those who gave their life for our freedom to live in this country. They gave the ultimate sacrifice. Their families and friends suffered and carried on without them. Many served by joining and others by draft. I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable time in whatever way they chose to do on this special day.
Happy birthday to Brandon Berry, 5-28; Marla Davidson and Devin Scott, 5-30; and Chuck Berry, 5-31.
Happy anniversary to Doris and Donald Rowlett, 6-1 (62 years)!
Please continue to remember these in prayer: Wesley Bates, Marie Bishop, Robert Brewer, Jackie Chambers, Rickey Clayton, Boyd Cupples, Joie Freeman, Nathan Frost, Jennifer Gateley, Shorty Harris, Johnny Hays, Shirley Kendrick, Glenda James, Donna Johnson, Sue Lewis, Doris McKinney, Martha Mainord, Janeane Moore, Deana Morris, Becky Nguyen, Cissy Nichols, LaVelle Page, Julia Parchman, Beth Plunk, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Tenisha Pursell, Logan Rencher, Todd Rencher, Jake Richardson, Cathy Sisson, Yuma Smith, Alice Terry Stovall, Jacob Thomas, Kevin Thurman, David Tucker, Tony Tucker, William Watkins and Adam Wise.
Also, pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and first responders
“Our Memories” by Lenore Hetrick – “If we remember those who are gone/Then they live again/They are here once more, they smile and speak/Just as do living men/So let us give our thoughts to the brave/Upon this Memorial Day/In spiritual fellowship let us speak/And listen to what they say/For a soldier who died for his country must know/Much that he could tell/And if we caught the message it might/Serve us oft and well/So in our memories let the dead/Linger often and long/Recollection of that kind live/And are like a springtime song.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
