Hello to everyone! I hope you all had a very good week. The beautiful sun was out this weekend. It was a little chilly, but we still had nice weather for the weekend. Rain is in the forecast for the rest of the week, but at least the temperatures are going to be warmer. It seems spring has sprung. We are doing a little sprucing up around here, and my husband is busy. He likes to stay busy, but I get distracted. Is that a male and female thing? I hear men have the same issue. I guess we all have a lot going on in our mind. We could work all day every day, but it is nice to just enjoy life sometimes, even if it is sitting on the porch enjoying God’s beauty and appreciating life.
I hope everyone remembered to turn their clocks forward Saturday night. We now are officially in daylight savings time. Enjoy the extra daylight.
Last week, we received an email announcing that Senator Dolores Gresham would not run for re-election – “‘It has been the honor of my life, surpassed only by my service in the U.S. Marine Corps, to serve the people of Tennessee, especially children,” said Sen. Gresham. “I am very thankful for the support, friendship, and kindness of my constituents who have entrusted me to represent them for the past 18 years.’” Senator Gresham said that she would continue to serve the residents of Tennessee until November when her successor is elected. We were surprised and sad yet appreciative of all she has done for our students and state. We wish her all the best in each of her future endeavors.
Happy birthday to Andrew Acred, 3-11; Morgan Fisher Roach, 3-12; Davis King, 3-13; and Pam Priddy and Talia Hinson, 3-14.
Please continue to remember these in prayer: Lynn Allen, Denise Armstrong, Lois Bain, Brinson Biggs, Sheila Berry, Charlie Brewer, David Brewer, Maverick Butler, Leon Carroll, Diane Cross, Bro. Glenn Harris, Larry Johnson, Danny Jones, Judy Love, Nancy McCaskill, Nancy Morris, LaVelle Page, MaryAnn Priddy, Pam Priddy, Joe Carl Reeves, Donald Rowlett, Dalton Seratt, Kenny Stevens, Kristi Taylor, Mike Tignor, Georgia Webb, Adam Wise and the family of Jenny Holmes. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders and our first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for them. Even if you don’t know their name, God does.
“Heart” by Diane Ranker Riesen – “Sometimes everything seems wrong – the stars don’t shine as bright/The moon tries hard to light our way; but, nothing seems quite right/I guess we have to understand some things don’t go our way/and let the “ONE” true God above help us when we pray/For every struggling journey – for each fall along the way/I have to just remind myself that God protects our day/Help each person, young and aged…give them strength tonight/to hold onto Your promises; and march on with the ‘fight’/And in the end, when time stands still – we move to higher space/where nothing ever makes mistakes; and stays a perfect place/This is where we really live – earth here, is just a start/and all the questions stop at once, with Jesus in your heart.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. We are not answering numbers that we do not recognize due to the high number of robocalls. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
