Hello to everyone!

I hope this has been a good week. Things continue to buzz along here on the home place. The weather has, as you know, continued to be hot and humid. We have an abundance of butterflies, and most are yellow. We still have hummingbirds, and one sat a long time this morning on a regular feeder and appeared to be grooming itself.
James continues to be prepared for his armadillo hunt. I do not know the purpose of this critter, but I wish them gone forever. It looks like it may be the middle of next week before the yard can be mowed with all the rain we have had and with all the rain that is still forecasted to come. Ah, the days of summer. Fall, I am eagerly awaiting your return.
We went to the benefit for Loving Paws Saturday at Tractor Supply. Thanks to those who donated or helped in any way and thanks to Tractor Supply for allowing them to have this event there. I hope it was successful. Animals are wonderful creatures. I mostly have had dogs. I do enjoy cats, too, but I am allergic to them.
We have had three inside dogs since Nick was killed, and they have been a joy to me. They help my mind and spirit. My first one was a black toy poodle named Snickers, and he loved me so much. He lived 10 years and died of spleen cancer, even after surgery. Next was Sophie. She was a silver toy poodle and companion for Snickers. She passed away at age 12 from renal failure. Now, we have Pepper. He is also a silver toy poodle and is nine now. I hope and pray he has a lot more time left. He adores me, and I adore him. He makes me happy and makes me smile.
I do not understand people who mistreat animals or discard them. They have feelings; they get used to their home, people and surroundings. Please never dump these animals to fend for themselves. If you would still like to help Loving Paws but were unable to attend their function, please send donations to Loving Paws, 2035 Brown Cemetery Rd., Luray, TN 38352. These could also be in memory or honor of a precious furbaby in your life.
Please continue to pray for all those affected by the Covid-19 virus. Also, pray for an end to this life changing pandemic.
Praying for the families of Ms. Murdell Barker, the mother of Joel McCall. She was 101 years old and passed away 8-26. She was a very strong woman and loved by many. I know she will be truly missed. Also, I heard Ms. Jimmy Wells passed away. Please keep these families in your prayers.
Happy Birthday to McKinley Davis, 8-29; Jessica Allen and Melvin Butler, 8-30; Gearldine Williams and Doug Priddy, 8-31; Judy Harris, 9-3; and David Morris, 9-4.
Happy anniversary to MaryAnn and Jimmy Priddy, 8-30; Eva and Alvin Jones, 9-1; and Nona and Dwain Seaton, 9-2.
Please continue to remember these in prayer Lynn Allen, Denise Armstrong, Brinson Biggs, Sheila Berry, Charlie Brewer, David Brewer, Beverly Butler, Maverick Butler, Faye and Pat Connor, Diane Cross, Kristen Daniel and family, Joie Freeman, Ann Hinson, Braelyn Ellis, Jeremy Ellis, Danny Jones, Nancy McCaskill, Nancy Morris, LaVelle Page, MaryAnn Priddy, Pam Priddy, Donald and Doris Rowlett, Dwain Seaton, Dwain Seaton, Jr., Doris Sells, Dalton Seratt, Kenny Stevens, Kristi Taylor, Peggy Zimmerle and Adam Wise.
Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders all those affected by the virus and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those; even if you do not know their name, God does.
You’ll wait. You’ll pray. You’ll get frustrated. You’ll question everything. But you’ll keep praying; you’ll learn patience. And one day, when you least expect it, God answers. So don’t ever stop believing; don’t ever stop trusting and never lose hope. God will give you what you’re praying for, but remember it’s in His time, not yours.
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings.
Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.

Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
