Hello to all! The weather was wonderful Sunday. The skies were a beautiful blue, leaves continued to fall and there was a slight breeze blowing. The temperature was 77 degrees. We have gone from some heat to air conditioning. There is a 40 percent chance of rain Tuesday, and the highs will be in the mid 60s for about three days and then back to 70 for a couple of days. Then, shock, back down to 61 and 63. Tennessee weather…don’t you just love it? I have lived in Tennessee all my life, and I do not love the humidity and sometimes tornadoes strike, but I love where I live. Have you ever thought about where you live? I have, and I think I am where I am because God placed me here. I had the parents I had because of God’s choosing. I hope that I can make a difference in this world before I die. I will say that, being a nurse, I feel I have made a difference, and it does not stop there. If we place God first in our thoughts and desires to please Him, we will make a difference as long as we follow His lead.
Well, we now have a new president elect – Joe Biden, as I am sure most everyone knows by now. Regardless of how everyone voted, life goes on. Life is a continual change whether it is noticed or not. Pray for President Trump and his family as they enter a new journey/opportunity in their lives. The battle is over, but the battle is the Lord’s. God never loses. We must keep our focus on living rightly and doing God’s will. Pray for God’s protection.
Wednesday, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day. Please remember all those who have fought and died for the freedoms we enjoy in our country. Pray for their safety, guidance and protection please. Thanks to every veteran for your unselfish service to our country.
Happy birthday to Charlene Holmes, 11-9; Melba Seaton, 11-11; and Dobber Dyer, 11-14.
Please continue to remember these in prayer Frances Ada and Tammy, Brenda Ada, Lynn Allen, Denise Armstrong, Brinson Biggs, Sheila Berry, Charlie Brewer, David Brewer, Inez Cash, Diane Cross, Kristen Daniel and family, Braelyn Ellis, Arlene Hill, Danny Jones, Nancy McCaskill, LaVelle Page, Delores Perkins, Pam Priddy, Donald and Doris Rowlett, Jim Ruth, Dwain Seaton, Dwain Seaton, Jr., Dalton Seratt, Kenny Stevens, Alice Stovall, Kristi Taylor, Lakin White, Peggy Zimmerle. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, those affected by COVID-19 and first responders. “A Soldier’s Poem” by unknown – “I was that which others did not want to be/I went where others feared to go, and did what others failed to do/I asked nothing from those that gave nothing, and reluctantly accepted/the thought of eternal loneliness…should I fail/I have seen the face of terror, felt the stinging cold of fear, and enjoyed a moment’s love/I have cried, pained, and hoped…and most of all/I have lived times others would say are best forgotten/At least someday, I will be able to say that I was proud of what I was/A Soldier.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
