Hello to everyone! Here is to a Happy Thanksgiving. The skies were a pale blue-gray with a slight cool breeze in the air on Friday. I am sure there are many who will gather for the holiday, and if you do, I hope you stay safe. It is up in the air with us. We can get together any time as we all live close, but I think I would use Zoom or Facetime if it was available to me. Even a phone call is better than a risk of COVID-19. I would love to see my parents, but they are deceased, and if they were here, I hope they would understand I would be thinking of their safety. I am in no way judging those who get together, but the numbers speak for themselves, and we have a new great-grandbaby. I just hope you all stay safe. Enjoy your time together and give God thanks for all your blessings – seen and unseen. We are thankful to see Dwain Seaton, Jr. back home after a long battle with this virus, and we pray for God’s strength and healing touch to continue.
Happy birthday to Glen McCaskill, 11-22; Kathy Pounds, Hunter Butler and Mark Morris, 11-24; and Doris McKinney, 11-27.
Happy anniversary to Ray and Ann Pusser, 11-26.
Please continue to remember these in prayer Frances Ada and Tammy, Brenda Ada, Lynn Allen, Denise Armstrong, Brinson Biggs, Sheila Berry, Charlie Brewer, David Brewer, Kimberly Carroll, Inez Cash, Diane Cross, Kristen Daniel and family, Danny Jones, Nancy McCaskill, LaVelle Page, Delores Perkins, Pam Priddy, Donald and Doris Rowlett, Jim Ruth, Dwain Seaton, Dwain Seaton, Jr., Paulette Sells, Dalton Seratt, Kenny Stevens, Kristi Taylor, Lakin White, Peggy Zimmerle and the Kim Mitchell family. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, those affected by COVID-19 and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those; even if you do not know their name, God does.
“An elderly woman had two pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do. After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. ‘I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.’ The old woman smiled, ‘Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot’s side? That’s because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.’ Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it’s the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You’ve just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them. So, to all of my cracked pots friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path! God bless You All!”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
