Hello to you all! Thank You, Lord, for an absolutely gorgeous sunny day on Saturday. The sky was a beautiful blue with small, white puffy clouds. We have had several finches at our feeders and also a cardinal and a nuthatch. The nuthatch is a very pretty bird, small with a black hat and snowy white chest. The temperature was 50 degrees with a slight breeze. It rained almost all day Sunday.
Welcome Kevin, Marla and Kendyl Davidson to the Mifflin community!
We are saddened to hear of the loss of Heather Mullins who passed away Jan. 19. She leaves her husband WiIl and two young children. Please remember this family in prayer now and in the coming days.
Laiken is really growing. She is a happy baby and wakes up smiling a lot. She is very alert, watching everything around her. She thinks her Uncle Brax is funny. She fights sleep as most babies do. She is another reason for us to want to go on, and we are very blessed with her and many other things in our lives. Every day is a blessing, although it also has a degree of sadness without Nick. He would have truly enjoyed having a family. He was a happy child and loved little kids and helping them. It would be icing on the cake if he were here. I just have to remember to enjoy our time here, and we will see him again. The way the times are, we all need to be as ready as we can. God sent His only perfect Son to die for us. Is that not enough to stir your soul? I am sure none of us could or would do that. God knew it would take something this extreme to touch the human heart. He knows our pain and sorrows and is there for them all. This is what has gotten me through the death of our youngest son, and it has been a daily thing since 12-11-97. He knows our pain. Jesus was perfect. That in itself makes me tear up. He was mocked, beaten and betrayed yet He loved us and wanted to do His father’s will. I am forever indebted to Him and love Him beyond words.
The COVID-19 vaccinations are being given out, and I know several that have had it without any issues. I think it is still for 75 and up at the present. I was told children under age 12 do not get it. There is another strain now in the U.S. I pray this vaccination has some protection for it all and covers those who get it for a long time.
Happy birthday to Matt Dickey, Jr., 1-26, and Alvin Jones, 1-29.
Happy anniversary to Carroll and Gearldine Williams, 1-27.
Please continue to remember these in prayer Lynn Allen, Randy Baker, Denise Armstrong, Sheila Berry, Charlie Brewer, David Brewer, Diane Cross, Braelyn Ellis, Misti Ellis, Danny Jones, Nancy McCaskill, LaVelle Page, Pam Priddy, Jerry Rogers, Jim Ruth, Paulette Sells, Dalton Seratt, Kenny Stevens, Kristi Taylor, Nancy B. Taylor and the Heather Mullins family. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, those affected by COVID-19 and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those; even if you do not know their name, God does.

I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
