Hello to all! How did everyone enjoy waking up to frigid temperatures Saturday morning?
I thought the heavy frost was pretty, almost like a light snow. Now, where did fall go? It seems the week ahead is going to be very cold. Next week, the temperatures are supposed to be in the 50’s, and the lows at night will be much better. We have seen one or two birds and are waiting to see them return.
Our son and grandson went deer hunting Saturday morning but had no luck, and the cold encouraged them to go home. I hope all those who get a deer comply with the hunting regulation concerning the deer wasting disease. Not only will it be safer for those eating deer, but it will also help TWRA in trying to contain this disease. I wish you all good hunting and stay safe.
We enjoyed a very touching and impressive program honoring our veterans at Chester County Junior High School on Friday afternoon. There was a lot of thought and planning to pull it all together, and I am sure everyone was grateful. There were many who never came home from war and others who served with good and bad memories forever. I am thankful Vietnam veterans are getting appreciation for what they did and all they went through, too. I want to thank each and every veteran for their service. Our country would not be what it is today without all those willing to serve our country unselfishly. God bless you all.
We had a great time at the fall festival at Friendship Baptist Church Saturday night. There was plenty of chili, hotdogs and other treats enjoyed along with games, fun and fellowship. Thanks to all who attended or participated in helping with this.
Happy birthday to Melba Seaton, Nov. 11, and “Dobber” Dyer, Nov. 14.
Happy anniversary to Marie and George Bishop, Nov. 15.
Please continue to remember these in prayer: Lynn Allen, Jerry Bain, Charlie Brewer, David Brewer, Janis Brewer, Kay Burton, Leon Carroll, Jackie Chambers, Billy Dickson, Bro. Glenn and Judy Harris, Eddie Hill, Danny Jones, Lee Nell King, Billy Frank Latham, Sarah McLemore, Nancy McCaskill, Owen McKinney, Andy Maness, Billy Neal Priddy, Pam Priddy, James Reddin, Dalton Seratt, Alice Terry Stovall, Adam Wise and Trey Young. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those. Even if you do not know their name, God does.
“He Stays with Me” by Diane Ranker Riesen – “Your rainbows help me every time -Your stars light up the dark/Your moon sends me soft thoughts each night; Your love fills up my heart/Your universe is filled with signs of proof that You exist/and even when I’m feeling sad…these signs I can’t resist/Each time I start to worry…each time I start to cry/I need to think upon Your Power – each sight before my eyes/You are the one who rules our world, and I must understand/that all my trials are seen by You and managed in Your hands/None of us are all alone…we have You by our side/You heard each prayer sent to You and saw each tear we cried/My trust in You will never end…and though some days I break/I know that I can lean on You – You’ll help me when I ache/Sometimes I’m so consumed and tired – I forget to call on You/The greatest hope and help I need…will be from what You do/Thank You, Father…my life’s secured – and in eternity/I’ll see the plan You’ve always had…the joy You’ve saved for me!” Soul Search and No One Knows by Diane Ranker Riesen can be purchased on Amazon, Barnes and Noble or Dorrance Publishing/Rosedog.
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please call me at 983-0718 or email mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
