Hello to everyone!
Sunday was a gorgeous day. The sun was shining, the skies were blue and the trees were a beautiful green. The birds are happy, and so are we. We have had a warbler and indigo buntings show up in addition to our other birds. I know cats are predators, but James gets very upset when he finds feathers in our yard. Also, the other night, he killed an armadillo. They are so destructive, as most know. They will tear a yard up. We have some huge holes to fill in. This gave the buzzards something to eat – yuck. We went somewhere a few days later, and when we returned, there were five buzzards on top of our house. Now, if I were paranoid, I would have turned that car around and left. I said, “My word! Is that a sign of a house of death?” It was as if they were awaiting our arrival, sort of like in “The Raven” – NEVERMORE! They visited their meal for several days until it was picked clean. We are beginning to see flowers blooming in our yard; in particular, our clematis. We have some bulbs to put out and some flowers gifted from others and God. James and I went, and he dug up some of the yellow weed that is in fields now that looks like miniature daisies on it. They bloom from April to June and will re-seed. We also were able to get some vine growing close by like a groundcover with purplish flowers that had four petals. These should return, too, but will have to be managed over time.
The school children are busy trying to study for end of year tests, getting ready for proms and such and preparing for a summer break. I am so glad we were out for about three months when I was younger. School ended usually the first week of June, and we did not go back until after Labor day.
We were in Jackson yesterday, and Sonic in north Jackson had several of their drive-up order spaces blocked off. I could not help but wonder if it was because of lack of help. There are many places hiring and no one to fill the spots. I do not know if unemployment and the extra money the government is giving is the reason or what. It will only last so long; then, when a person needs a job, they may be all filled. The shortage is in almost every area.

Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, those affected by COVID and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those; even if you do not know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
