Hello to all and Happy New Year! The skies were cloudy, and there is an occasional slight breeze noted on Saturday. The temperature was 56 degrees, and we were under a tornado watch though 8 p.m. Thank the Lord we were spared from the potential bad storms. I can not imagine the fear those that have experienced recent storms and loss feel when these warnings and watches are now posted. Also, it was sleeting when church was over on Sunday and later turned into beautiful snow. What a wonderful birthday gift!
Our Christmas tree is still up. I am ready to put it away for another year. We did enjoy being with family and our little great-granddaughter Laiken always makes life fun and interesting. Aren’t babies and little children just wonderful? They sure do grow up fast. I can not believe our oldest son is 46 years old now, and I just turned 68. We all have many hills and valleys on our journey, but I am very thankful God is with us every step. I wish you all a wonderful New Year with good health, happiness and hope for the future.
Happy Birthday to Rick Prater, 1-1; Vickie Ellis, 1-2; Amy Lofton, 1-4; Kynleigh Butler, 1-7; and Curt McKinney, 1-8.
Please continue to remember these in prayer: Randy Baker, Sheila Berry, Robert and Joyce Brewer, J.T. and Jeanette Butler, Jackie Chambers, Tom Gaugh, Maryann Lackie, LaVelle Page, David Parchman, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Jake Richardson, Gina Robinson, Bro. Larry Rose, Kristi Taylor, David Tucker, Tony Tucker and Adam Wise. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, those affected by COVID and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those; even if you do not know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
“There’s no storm that God won’t carry you through. No bridge that God won’t help you cross. No battle that God won’t help you through. No heartache that God can’t help you let go of. He is so much bigger than anything you will ever face. Leave everything in His hands. Embrace each day confidently, knowing that He will take care of you.” -Unknown
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
