Hello to all! Today is Sunday, June 12. The sky is light blue with white clouds. It is sunny, and there is a slight breeze noted. It is 82 degrees. We have several birds, mostly finches, wrens and an occasional hummer. Another day of thankfulness and blessings.
Yesterday (Saturday) was gorgeous. The skies were the brightest blue, and the clouds were white with some having gray edging,
God gives us so much beauty to enjoy. I hope everyone takes time to appreciate each day and its newness. We went with some friends to the fish fry at Finger and at 3 p.m. there was a great attendance. The food was delicious! They had a lot of volunteers helping, and the guys cooking were keeping the food replenished. I know they were hot but did not have much time to think about it. I hope they raised enough money to help the fire department. This was my first time going, but we will go again. Thanks to our friends for inviting us. We enjoyed our outing with you both!
We also attended the Daryl Mosley concert at First Methodist Church in Henderson. He is a songwriter and singer. He gives his testimony through music. He was very good, and they are planning on trying to arrange another visit for him. I hope you will take advantage of the next visit and a thanks goes out to the church for inviting him.
I hope everyone is prepared for a HOT week ahead. We are getting an early taste of summer. Each season holds its beauty and opportunities to enjoy nature and different things. We will need to mow again toward the end of the week, and you can believe I will be wearing sunscreen, and we will try to do short intervals of mowing or do it later in the day. Possibly it will not get mowed until a break from the heat. Our air conditioner is out at the present. I hope and pray it can be fixed before this hot week ahead.
Happy birthday to Marie Bishop, 6-14; Marla Newman, 6-16; and Lisa Bray, 6-17.
Please continue to remember these in prayer – Randy Baker, Sheila Berry, Joe Bingham, Marie Bishop, Robert and Joyce Brewer, J.T. and Jeanette Butler, Jackie Chambers, Ann English, Johnny Hays, Anita and Larry Lambert, Doris McKinney, LaVelle Page, Beth Plunk, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Todd Rencher, Jake Richardson, David Tucker, Tony Tucker, Adam Wise and the families of John Butler and Jessie Gilliam, Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders and first responders.
There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer; even if you do not know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
“My Wish for You” by Ralph Waldo Emerson – “This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
