Hello to all! Today is Saturday, June 25, and we are almost at the end of June. Six months from today is Christmas – WOW! Can you believe that? The temperature is 97 degrees right now, and the heat index is just 99. I do not think I have to let anyone know how hot it has been. The chickens have been laying boiled eggs. Our birds are still around but not as plentiful. You know when it is hot we do not need as much food but sure need lots of water. Also, be sure the pets have shade and fresh water every day. You can sit a milk jug of frozen water in their water pan – large bowl or dishpan will do. It will help.
The Chester County boys 5/6 year old baseball team has gone undefeated and are district champions. They will be going to AllStars July 7-10 playing in Fairview, I wish them all the best and am proud of all your hard work. It has been very hot, but those little fellas have worked hard! Those little legs were running as fast as they could. Thanks for supporting this team and thanks to everyone who supports children in any program which helps skills and self esteem. Children need encouragement. I do not care if it is jumping rope, playing ball, fishing, dancing or putting bait on a hook. Everything is a learning process. We all need appreciation and encouragement. Thanks to all who offer it on a daily basis, which includes teachers.
Condolences to those who have lost loved ones: Lola Austin, Phillip Croom, Evelyn Bishop, Garland Whitten, Angie Rhodes, Ruby Snider and Shirley Bailey.
Happy birthday to Jackson Sanford, 6-26; Carla Berry, Hope Butler and Jaxon Richardson, 6-27; Mason Connor, 6-28; Jonathan Knipper, 6-29; Bill Wood, 7-1; and Kole Knipper, 7-2.
Please continue to remember these in prayer: Randy Baker, Sheila Berry, Joe Bingham, Marie Bishop, Robert and Joyce Brewer, J.T. and Jeanette Butler, Beverly Butler, Janet Butler, Jackie Chambers, James Ellis, Anita and Larry Lambert, LaVelle Page, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Todd Rencher, Jake Richardson, Donald Rowlett, David Tucker, Tony Tucker and Adam Wise. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer; even if you do not know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
