Hello to all! The skies were a light blue, and there was a slight breeze on Saturday. We are continuing to have a few hydrangea blooms, but most of the in-ground flowers are gone until next year. Our flowers in pots are still pretty, and we are still seeing hummingbirds. The birds are few and infrequent at this time. We have certainly enjoyed this beautiful weather. The forecast this week calls for possible rain Wednesday through Friday and temperatures from low to mid 80s. Of course, remember where we live and that forecasts can change frequently.
Sadly, Saturday was the 20 year remembrance of the 9/11 attack on our country. The sadness, yet hope was expressed by many at the televised ceremonies Saturday morning. I pray we will never experience anything like this again. Our country is continuing to bring Americans home. Pray for our country and its people. We continue to battle various things in this country, one of which is COVID and only God has the answer to it all.
Happy birthday to Seth Berry, 9-12; Steve Priddy, Cindy Burton and Madison Williams, 9-14; Debbie Morris, MaryAnn Priddy, Mason Seaton and Kay Burton Newman, 9-15; and Jennifer Stevens, 9-16.
Happy anniversary to Jeannette and J.T. Butler, 9-14, and Paula and Kurt McKinney, 9-18.
Please continue to remember these in prayer: Chelsey Baker, Randy Baker, Sheila Berry, Charlie Brewer, Robert and Joyce Brewer, J.T. Butler, Jackie Chambers, Charlene Koonce, Nancy McCaskill, LaVelle Page, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Logan Rencher, Dwain Seaton, Jr., Randy Sells, Dalton Seratt, David Tucker, Tony Tucker, Katherine Wyatt and Adam Wise. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, those affected by COVID and first responders There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those; even if you do not know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
“Go Forth” by Diane Ranker Riesen – “My child, don’t think you cannot help – You must not feel too small/Your life is for a purpose and My plans include you all/I knew from the beginning …that I’d need each one of you/just place your trust in My hands…and I’ll show what you can do/There are a million different ways that each of you can show/lost and lonely people all the truths they need to know/There are no ‘little’ gestures; each act of Faith is blessed/I’ve given you a special way…that you can teach the rest/You are my ‘beacons’ in the night; you are My shining star/and you will help My mission…exactly where you are/There may just be a hungry child you see out on the street/I had planned it long ago…that you and he would meet/That smile you gave, that touch he felt – accomplished countless joy/You brought a sense of “My” sweet love into that little boy/You may think what you do is small, and will not help My cause/Your earthly ears can’t hear the sound of Heaven’s soft applause/That tired and lonely woman…who touched you with her cries/when you reached out to help her – she saw ‘ME’ in your eyes/With every act of love you show…no matter big or small/You spread My purpose selflessly, and answer to My call/Reach out to others with My love – in simple, quiet ways/Make others want the ‘joy’ you show throughout your normal day/I don’t compare the gift you give – each ‘act’ is equal worth/I count on you to spread ‘My’ word – as heaven here on earth.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
