Hello to everyone! I hope it has been a good week for you. We had some more snow on Sunday, but it did not stick around for too long. I hope everyone enjoyed their extra day off and stayed safe whether traveling or playing.
I was treated to lunch for my birthday this week by a dear friend. We went to Ada’s and ate. The store/bakery is very nice, and the food was delicious! I had a chicken salad with lots of things on it. You can choose from various items. My friend had a chef salad. I will say they are hearty salads. The sandwiches I saw were the same. The prices are reasonable, and it was quiet, which was also nice. They have various food products to cook with or just purchase to take home and eat. James and I will have to go back and let him make his choices. My friend and I also made a stop at a new business on the same side of the highway as Ada’s – The Red Door. There is a lot of merchandise to enjoy. If you are into the farmhouse style, there is something there. If you like pictures on canvas, they have them. There are also birds of all sorts and sizes. She is starting to prepare for Valentine’s Day. I will make this one of my places to visit that is close to home. I wish them all the best.
Happy birthday to Carolyn Whitley, 1-18; Brenda Hudson, 1-19; Billy Neal Priddy, 1-20; and Arlene Hill and Nicki Bray, 1-21.
Please continue to remember these in prayer: Randy Baker, Sheila Berry, Robert and Joyce Brewer, J.T. and Jeanette Butler, Jackie Chambers, Tom Gaugh, Maryann Lackie, LaVelle Page, David Parchman, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Jake Richardson, Gina Robinson, Bro. Larry Rose, Kristi Taylor, David Tucker, Tony Tucker, Adam Wise and the family of Randy Sells. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, those affected by COVID and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer for those; even if you do not know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
“Climb ‘Til Your Dream Comes True” by Helen Steiner Rice – “Often your tasks will be many/And more than you think you can do/Often the road will be rugged/And the hills insurmountable, too/But always remember, the hills ahead/Are never as steep as they seem/And with Faith in your heart start upward/And climb ‘til you reach your dream/For nothing in life that is worthy/Is ever too hard to achieve/If you have the courage to try it/And you have the Faith to believe/For Faith is a force that is greater/Than knowledge or power or skill/And many defeats turn to triumph/If you trust in God’s wisdom and will/For Faith is a mover of mountains/There’s nothing that God cannot do/So start out today with Faith in your heart/And Climb ‘Til Your Dream Comes True!”
“There’s no storm that God won’t carry you through. No bridge that God won’t help you cross. No battle that God won’t help you through. No heartache that God can’t help you let go of. He is so much bigger than anything you will ever face. Leave everything in His hands. Embrace each day confidently, knowing that He will take care of you” – unknown
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home. Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
