Hello to all! Today is Saturday, 5-21. The temperature is 85 degrees; it is humid and feels like 89 outside. There is an occasional breeze, and the clouds are white on a bluish-gray sky. We have bright orange roses, pinkish-red rosebush and two clematis blooming now. Last year, the clematis did not bloom. I am sure the rain that is coming this week will help them all. I have a few pots on the deck that have various flowers in them and one large pot on the front porch with lovely flowers. I wish y’all could see this one begonia I have. It is my first attempt with one. It is a gorgeous yellow-orange. I hope it will be happy all summer. We only have two pepper plants and two tomato plants, enough for two people. Our land looks very pretty after being mowed again, and our “smoke” tree is showing out! James finally got the BIG limb that broke off our Bradford pear cut up and hauled away.
I am continuing to mend from the tick bite, I think, but I get tired and nauseous some. Now, I just think I feel a tick when there is not one. Bad stuff is all I can say. Thanks for prayers.
Lavelle Page and Brenda Hudson are home from the hospital now.
I regret not giving a young couple a congratulations on their wedding, but I did not know the date. Congratulations to Emily Eads Calderon and Ryan Calderon on their marriage, 4-23-22. I may be a month late, but I am very happy for you both and wish you many happy years together.
Congratulations to Nancy and Dennis Parker on their recent celebration of 50 years of marriage. They celebrated with friends and family at Mt. Pleasant Methodist church. I wish you many more years of happiness.
Rachel Ellington, along with Kevin, Marla and Kendyl Davidson and Kirk and Brooklynn Davidson, spent last weekend in Scottsboro, Ala., with Sherry and Greg Utley and family.
Thanks to Freed-Hardeman for their generosity in working with the Chester County School system and allowing the use of Lloyd auditorium for graduation. It was a great environment for this event in life. May the Lord continue to bless the school in its endeavors to create good, Christian leaders for our future. I enjoyed the ceremony very much, and each speaker did a great job, but I was “very” impressed with Zane Bolton who was Valedictorian. I do not know any personally, but he is a great speaker and was well prepared with his thoughts for the future and hopes for his classmates. I was very proud that he acknowledged God in his speech! Truly, pleasing God should be our ultimate goal. I wish all a wonderful journey in life.
Happy belated birthday to Sarah McLemore and Landon Butler, 5-15.
Happy birthday to Zachery Priddy, 5-22; Ayden Sanford, 5-27; and Brandon Berry, 5-28.
Condolences to the Joe Priddy family. He passed away 5-15-22. Also, condolences to the family of Kristi Taylor.
Please continue to remember these in prayer: Randy Baker, Sheila Berry, Joe Bingham, Marie Bishop, Robert and Joyce Brewer, Beverly Butler, J.T. and Jeanette Butler, John and Janet Butler, Jackie Chambers, Sawyer Connor, Vickie Ellis, Ann English, Cooper Jackson, Maryann Lackie, Anita and Larry Lambert, Doris McKinney, Sarah McLemore, Andy Maness, Billy Maness, Willadean Maness Thrasher, LaVelle Page, Pam Priddy, Jesse Pugh, Todd Rencher, Jake Richardson, David Tucker, Tony Tucker and Adam Wise. Also, please pray for our military, law enforcement, our country and its leaders, and first responders. There are many sick and hurting. Please say a prayer; even if you do not know their name, God does. Prayer is not an obligation; it is the greatest privilege we have. Pray yourself through each day.
“Pathways” by Helen Steiner Rice – “Memory builds a little pathway that goes winding through my heart…It’s lovely, quiet, gentle trail from other things apart. I only meet when traveling there the folks I like the best…For this road called remembrance is hidden from the rest. But I hope I’ll always find you in my memory rendezvous…For I keep this little secret place to meet with folks like you.”
I pray you all have a wonderful week, and may it be filled with love, joy, peace and blessings. Remember: if you have news, please email me at mimmiepots@gmail.com. I would truly appreciate any news. People from here and those who have moved from our area but still want to keep in touch through the newspaper are hungry for news from home.
Until next week, Happy Trails to You.
