Our community is mourning the passing of Bill Mayfield, long time Silerton resident and former mayor of the town. Condolences go to his family. He will be missed.
Silerton Baptist Church is preparing for their centennial celebration on Decoration Day, May 7. It will be Silerton’s usual Decoration Day, the first Sunday in May. This year there will be a special program. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. The program starts at 10 a.m. Lunch will be served after the program. Debbie Dillard and church family say, “Come Grow with Us.”
In other community news, Silerton park’s long awaited slide has now been delivered and is awaiting assembly.
