Gary Siler would appreciate your prayers as he continues with his medical struggles. Praises that Lee Stack has completed his treatments and is doing great.
Gwen (Butler) Lindley recently had surgery and would appreciate your prayers as she recovers. She was so thankful that her daughter, Robbie, could travel from Ohio to spend a few days with her.
Gwen (Butler) Lindley reminded me that her mother’s, Colene (Crowley) Butler Tims, birthday is Feb. 20. She would have been 100 years of age this year. Most students who attended Silerton and Toone schools have many fond memories of her.
The Silerton Fire Department announces a “Save the Date” for 6 p.m. Saturday, March 28. There will be a buffet supper and a silent auction.
As we continue this week with another love story, I asked Gwen Lindley to share the blessings she received for being the caregiver for her maternal aunts, Kathleen (Crowley) Vincent and Jenetta (Crowley) Bridges.
As most everyone who has any experience in being a caregiver knows, it can sometimes be overwhelming. Gwen shared how her teaching career in Ohio was having a few roadblocks and how she did not find teaching to be as fulfilling as it had been in earlier days. She began thinking about moving back to Hardeman County. When she was resettled in Bolivar, she could see God’s hand in her decisions.
Her two maternal aunts, who had played a vital role in her childhood, needed some assistance in their senior years. She was able to enjoy being neighbors to them for a few years. Then the day came that she needed to move them in her home for more assistance. Gwen saw her new responsibilities as being obedient to the call God had placed on her. She felt one of the greatest blessings of being their caregiver was being able to have spent eight more years with them in their last days and sharing many family memories. She felt God had worked it all out. Gwen was willing to open her home and heart to her aunts, and she demonstrated her love for God in following His leading in this next stage of her life.

As the month progresses, please contact me if you have someone you would like to recognize for sharing their love.
