We all are seeing some first time things in our lives right now. I just pray that our community does not get hit hard with this virus and am definitely praying for the family that has already been effected. We all saw a difference in our country when 9/11 took place, and I pray that we will be seeing more people turn to God for the necessary answers during this time. He definitely holds the key to our future and where we will spend eternity. Call someone in the ministry field if you need to talk and get more information or let me know if you need to find someone, and I will be happy to assist.
“Cookies” for Cancer will be having the Second Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Free Easter Dinners on Saturday, April 4, at the Montezuma Community Center from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. or until the food runs out. RSVP is required to Beth Everett at 731-658-6347 (land line) or bethriva04@yahoo.com to make sure we have enough food to feed everyone attending. We do ask that everyone coming for the free dinner make a donation to the American Cancer Society. Dinner will consist of baked ham, potato casserole, vegetables and dessert. The Easter Egg Hunt will start at 1 p.m. inside the gym area. Watch for upcoming details about the possible rescheduling of this event.
Montezuma sends out happy birthday wishes to Denise Davidson on March 26, Joann Osborne on March 27, Seth Wade on March 28 and Carrie Jester on April 2.
Please continue to pray for John Phillips, Linda Tacker, Buck Burkhead, Anthony Cooper, Faye Crouse, Nancy Thomas, Ed and Betty Morris, Elvie Lee Sanders, Ann Morrison, our country and our government. Please be in prayer for the families of Sue Holder Greene, Denny Smith, Ruth King, Jessie Hudson, Mason Carter Harlow and other families that have recently lost loved ones.
We would love to have some new people get involved in working with us at the community center. Please call me at 608-2857 if you would like to join in.
Please call Betty Cooper at 879-9078 to book the use of the community center.
Please send any noteworthy news you have to share in this column to gaylecox@bellsouth.net or call me at 608-2857.
Blessings to all of you until next time.
