Friends and family gathered at the home of Larry and Anita Lambert on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 12, for their annual critter stew. The critter stew and the regular stew were both delicious. The menu also included hot dogs, chips and the many desserts that attendees brought. Larry, Anita and Joey work very hard each year to bring this event together, and their labor is always deeply appreciated. Following Anita’s welcome to everyone, Barbara Keeton recognized the veterans and thanked them for their service. She then introduced her husband, Russell, who performed an excellent rendition of Ragged Old Flag. Attendees enjoyed a performance by Bryan Howell and Lakelin and Daisy Lemmings. Haley Howell and Gracelyn Howell blessed the audience with the song, “I’ve Got that Old Time Religion in My Heart.” Gracelyn is five years old.
Silerton Baptist Church will be having a cleanup day for the church and grounds on Saturday, Oct. 26. Members, your help will be greatly appreciated.
Grady and Carolyn Stack and David and Lois Stack enjoyed a week of camping at Pickwick.
Retirees and their family members from the Harmon Automotive Plant gathered at the Silerton Fire Department for their annual reunion on Saturday, Oct. 12. Bobby Naylor reported that attendance was down, but everyone present had a wonderful time.
