Condolences to the family and friends of Bobbie Barr. Bobbie had a unique way of lifting the spirit of people she was around.
Please continue to pray for John Jordan as he recovers at home. He was recently discharged from the Jackson-Madison County Hospital.
Silerton residents will miss Rebecca Gloyd. She recently moved to Bolivar. Bolivar’s gain was Silerton’s loss.
We welcome Alfred and Jonna Ewing to 170 Lambert Lane. Jonna is the oldest daughter of Frankie Lambert. They moved here from Portage, Ohio. Both had lost their jobs. Despite the quarantine, each has obtained employment. Jonna states there have been a lot of adjustments, but the biggest adjustment has been poor cell phone service. Like most grandmothers, the thing she misses the most is not seeing her six grandchildren. No telephone service makes it very hard. Now she can not see them and has problems with having a good cell phone signal. Jonna stated that she loves the fact that she can walk down the hill and see her dad. She is enjoying the peace and quietness of Silerton. She said, “The pace is much slower here and life seems to be more stress free.”
Silerton Baptist Church plans on having services on Sunday, May 10.
Piney Grove Baptist Church organized a drive-in church service where everyone sat in their cars and listened to Bro. David deliver his message.
There will be no Decoration Day services at Wesley Cemetery on the second Sunday in May due to COVID-19.
I would appreciate if you would call and share some of your news and thoughts or memories so we can stay connected.
