Hope everyone is enjoying the pretty Spring flowers in Silerton this year. I have noticed several folks are out mowing their yards and doing some landscaping. It is nice to see people out fishing and walking and just enjoying the great outdoors. Gail Mayfield says “Everyone is invited to Homecoming at the Silerton Baptist Church Sunday, May 2. The church doors will open at 10 a.m. visiting in the fellowship hall with the service beginning at 11 a.m. A potluck meal will follow.”
If you enjoy Silerton history, William Siler has posted some great articles in the Facebook group Silerton-Photographs From the Past. The articles were published in originally in The Jackson Sun. One article involves an airplane crash that occurred in what is believed to be J. L. Rush’s field.
Hope everyone has a nice homecoming and the weather stays pleasant for honoring loved ones.
