Mary Lynn Lambert brings us graduate news this week. She writes, “Several parents and grandparents who attend Piney Grove Baptist Church are anticipating graduation ceremonies. Ava Rhymer, daughter of Amy and Eric Rhymer, will be graduating from eighth grade at Hornsby Elementary School on May 21. She will be attending McNairy County Central High School. Ava excels in writing, arts and crafts and artistry. She revealed that talent when she designed the t-shirts for the Beta Club. Ava is the granddaughter of Raylene and the late Billy Jacobs and the late Ed and Virginia Rhymer
Caylee and Cayleb Richardson will be graduating from Central High School. They are children of Chris and Stephanie Richardson and granddaughter of Wayne and Gwen Cox. Both students were honor students. Caylee has the honor of graduating eighth in her class. She looks forward to starting Jackson State Community College and studying to become a teacher. Cayleb intends to attend Jackson Vocational School and study Auto Mechanics.
Logan Cole is the son of Jessica and Tim Baker of Middleton and grandson of Jerry and Wanda Vaughn of Toone. He is planning on going to Jackson State Community to begin his studies to become an RN or a doctor.
Shelby Smith, daughter of Corey and Erin Sullivan and granddaughter of Richard and Sandy Sullivan, plans to attend College at Murray State this fall and begin her studies to become an ophthalmologist and hopefully continue to be an eye surgeon.
Gracie Howell, daughter of David and Andrea Howell, graduated as a homeschooler from Gateway Christian School. She studied from different curriculums during her 12 years of homeschooling. She appreciates her parent’s dedication and support during her schooling. She was most appreciative that she was in a more protective environment and was encouraged by the biblical influences. Gracie was happy to report that she finished 12 years of schooling in 11 years. She was surrounded by family and friends at the Porter Creeks Baptist Church Saturday evening, May 1, where her graduation ceremony was held. Piney Grove Baptist Church hosted a fellowship meal and a gift giving time after worship service on Sunday evening on May 2.”
In other community news, do not forget that Piney Grove Baptist Church will have a worship service at the Wesley Cemetery at 11 a.m. on May 9. There will not be a meal afterwards. Hickory Grove will meet on at 11 a.m. May 16 for a meal. Piney Grove Baptist Church will meet at the church for Homecoming on May 23. There will be no meal following the service.
