Dale Annette Jones Kirby, 75, of Henderson passed away July 28, 2024, at Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Frank Morimanno officiating.
Burial will follow at Mifflin Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue from 5-7 p.m. Thursday and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. service time on Friday.
She was born in Henderson, the daughter of the late Albert Jay and Nettie Lavern Page Jones. Her grandparents were Lessie and Charlie Page of Huron and Vassie Eason Jones and Hugh Ned Jones of Henderson. She spent a few years in Springfield, Ore., and graduated from Chester County High School in 1967. She married John Kirby in 1974. She worked many years as a mechanical designer after receiving her certificate in Vocational Tech. School.
She worked for Dover Elevator at Middleton, Eaton Axle in Humboldt, and then the State of Tennessee in road and interchange design.
She loved horses, and she and John showed saddle horses for many years. Her favorite horse was Go Boy’s Fannan Lady that she raised. She was a talented artist and enjoyed her flowers and gardening. She was a Baptist in belief. She loved her family and was always caring and supportive. She will be greatly missed as the family says goodbye to her until they meet again in heaven.
She is survived by two brothers, Albert Dean (Annette) Jones of Jacks Creek and Ricky (Susan) Jones of Henderson; three sisters, Vicki (Dr. Irvin Rainey) Zamata-Rainey of Henderson, Dawn (Daniel) Nance of Medon and Jennifer (Brian) Cronin of Henderson; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John William Kirby, July 5, 2023; and a brother, Darry Jones.
