CHRISTINE HARRIS – AUG. 1, 2024

Rachel Christine Brown Harris, 98, of Finger passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 1, 2024, at her home in Finger. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue in Henderson with David Sims officiating. Burial will follow at Finger Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Shackelford’s Crook Avenue from 11 a.m. until funeral time of 2 p.m. Thursday.
She was born and reared in Finger, the daughter of the late Henry Harrison and Bessie Lillian Lewis Brown. She attended school in Finger and graduated from Chester County High School.
Her first works were at the shoe factory in Selmer, Logan McCaskill Insurance, the cotton gin in the fall, and the shirt factory in Henderson. She married John Lloyd Harris Dec. 16, 1944, and they made their home at Finger. After her daughters were born, she became the Finger Postmaster in 1961 and continued there 27 years as her husband, Lloyd, served as Mayor of Finger. She also assisted in the mayor’s office as bookkeeper.
She loved animals, especially her dog Jazzime. She was a very giving and caring individual. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, solitaire and game shows and was an avid reader. She attended the First Baptist Church in Finger.
The family wishes to recognize her caretakers, Patricia Crowe and Shirley Prenatt.
She is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Steve) Porter of Collierville and Rhonda (Weiss) Davis of Selmer; four grandchildren, Julie (Ladron) Tucker, Trent Davis, Grant Porter and Rachel Porter; three great-granddaughters, Hayden, Harris, and Jillian Tucker; and a very special friend, Teddy Wayne Hysmith, whom she considered as a son, his wife, Phyllis, and their granddaughter, Myah.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd in 2000; and a sister, Lorraine McKenzie and her husband, James. 

BEVERLY HILTON – Aug. 11, 1948 – July 31, 2024

Beverly Raye Hilton, 75, of Henderson passed away July 31, 2024, at her home.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Glenn Harris officiating.
Burial followed at Cave Springs Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday and from noon until 2 p.m. service time on Sunday.
She was born Aug. 11, 1948, in Beverly Hills, Calif., the daughter of the late John Raymond and Ruby Mae Penland Hilton. They moved to Henderson in 1961 where her parents owned and operated Mid-South Motel. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1966. She was a runner up for Miss Henderson her senior year. Her first job was at the ASCS Office, and she then served as the assistant tax assessor for Chester County Assessor Jacky Maness.
She was an avid deer hunter and out shot many rival male hunters. She was a member of the Sanford Hill Baptist Church. She had courageously battled multiple myeloma since 1995, a near 30 year battle.
She is survived by her son, Bryan Maness of Henderson; a daughter, Janet Leigh (Mike) Howell of Henderson; two grandchildren, Malia Elizabeth Maness and Mattie Brooke Maness; and three brothers, Ron (Nellie) Hilton of Cordova, Jeff (Jo) Hilton of Troy, Ala., and Greg Hilton of Jackson.

PAUL PARCHMAN – April 25, 1968 – July 30, 2024

David Paul Parchman, 56, of Henderson passed away July 30, 2024, at his home.
Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Bro. Glenn Harris officiating.
Burial followed at Unity Cemetery.
The family received friends at East Main Chapel from 9:30-11 a.m. service time on Saturday.
He was born April 25, 1968, in Tacoma, Wash., (Pierce County), the son of David Glen and Glenda Ann Nobles Parchman. He grew up in Chester County and graduated Chester County High School in 1986. He entered the Air Force in 1987. He took basic at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and served in Chandler, Arizona for 10 years.
He returned to Henderson and worked for SM Lowrance over 20 years. He continued as a State Licensed Master Journeyman Plumber and was currently working at H & M Construction.
He was an avid fisherman and loved being out on the water. He loved board games and reading comic books. He was a fifty-six-year-old man who was a kid at heart. He had built his own arcade machine, accommodating multiple arcade games.
He is survived by his father and mother, David Glen and Glenda Ann Nobles Parchman of Henderson; a daughter, Kaitlin Parchman of Henderson; three stepdaughters, Samantha Sprayberry, Stephanie Donahoe and Felicia Carter; and one sister, Paula Michelle Knight of Henderson.
