MARGARET HOOPER – Dec. 9, 1945 – May 19, 2024
Margaret Pauline Francis Hooper, 78, of Henderson passed away May 19, 2024, at her home. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Bethel Baptist Church with Bro. Francis Wood officiating. Burial followed at Bethel Cemetery. The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday and from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
She was born Dec. 9, 1945, in Jackson, the daughter of the late Bertram Francis, Sr. and Luna Muriel Bledsoe Francis. She graduated from Jackson High School and West TN Business College.
She worked for an ENT doctor as a bookkeeper for two years, worked for Dr. Robert Barnett for nine years and for JACOA for 17 years. She moved to Colorado and worked at a Ski Resort for a year then moved to Mississippi and worked for four years for a GI doctor before moving back to Jackson in 1997 where she worked for a Cardiologist until 2003. Finally, she worked at Western State in Bolivar for 13 years, retiring in 2018.
She married Tom Hooper on Feb. 16, 1993. She was member of the Bethel Baptist Church and truly loved her church. She also was a sports fan especially the Memphis Grizzlies and UT Sports.
She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Nana.”
She is survived by her husband, Tom Hooper of Henderson; two sons, Jimmie ‘Bo’ (Lena) Scott of Jackson and Jeremy A. (Jennifer) Scott of Henderson; a nephew that she raised as a son, Bertram Francis, III, of Henderson; six grandchildren, Jacob Scott, Christian Francis, Bennett Francis, Dylan Authers, Brittany Terry and Karlee Hooper; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters.
TAMMY PUSSER – June 9, 1965 – May 20, 2024
Tammy Renee Rowland Pusser, 58, of Henderson passed away May 20, 2024, at her home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and from noon-2 p.m. Friday.
She was born June 9, 1965.
