Shelia Nance – Jan. 25, 1966 – May 27, 2024

Shelia Ann Nance, 58, of Beech Bluff passed away at her Home in the Beech Bluff Community early Monday morning, May 27, 2024. 
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Beech Bluff Pentecostal Church with Bishop Curtis Howard and Pastor Taylor Jones officiating. 
Burial will follow in Beech Bluff Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
She was born in Henderson, Jan. 25, 1966, the daughter of the late Thomas Edward Vann, Sr. and Ollie Faye Doyle Vann. She grew up in Bemis and was a 1985 graduate of Southside High School. She married Frankie Nance, July 2, 1993, and they made their home in Beech Bluff.
She worked for Mighty Products in Jackson for 24 years. She was a member of Beech Bluff Pentecostal Church and was very involved in women’s ministries.
She was very close to her family and enjoyed gatherings. She enjoyed all children, especially her children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her husband, Franklin Delano “Frankie” Nance; a son, Blake Nance of Beech Bluff; two daughters, Pamela (Roy) Winslow of Beech Bluff and Stephanie (John) Coley of Jackson; two brothers, Thomas (Laurie) Vann, Jr. of Milan and Donald Ray Vann of Ramer; two sisters, Tammy (Mark, deceased) Macon and Penny (Curtis) Howard, all of Beech Bluff; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Jeff Vann.

BRITTANY FOSTER MORTON – Dec. 10, 1990 – May 21, 2024

Brittany Chantelle Foster, 33, of Henderson passed away May 21, 2024, in Jackson, as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with burial to follow at Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday.
She was born Dec. 10, 1990, in Jackson, the daughter of Lori Jayne Morton Foster and Brandon Bailey Foster. She grew up in Henderson and attended Chester County High School. She had worked for Pacific Manufacturing and Ingrams in Jackson.
She was very artistic and enjoyed etching glass, tattooing, working on cars, riding horses and four wheelers. She loved animals and leaves behind her beloved cat, Elmer Thudd, her “son.” 
She is survived by her mother, Lori Jayne Morton Foster and stepfather, Randy Allen Holmes of Henderson; her father, Brandon Bradley Foster and stepmother, Tabatha Foster of Cedar Grove; her paternal grandparents, Dwight and Carolyn Hudson of Reagan; her boyfriend, Mark Hunt of Henderson; a sister, Ashley Foster of Jacks Creek; one stepbrother, Ryan Holmes of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; her best friend, Justin Ingle of Jackson; uncles, Eddie (Beverly) Morton of Henderson, Vernon Morton of Henderson, Blake (Jennifer) Foster of Reagan and Jimmy Menzie of Henderson, who was like an uncle to her; and an aunt, Kim (Phil) Nelson of Memphis.   
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Dell and Mary Morton.

Helen Moore – May 24, 2024

Helen Kay Shelton Moore, 81, of Finger passed away Friday evening, May 24, 2024, at Henderson Healthcare.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Glenn Harris officiating.
Burial followed at Old Friendship Cemetery. The family received friends at Crook Avenue Chapel from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday.
She was born in Phoenix, Ariz., and reared in Chester County, the daughter of the late Harry Leon Shelton and Madeline Vanada Shelton Teuton. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1961 and graduated from West Tennessee Business School. She was executive secretary to the plant manager at American Olean Tile and the Bendix Corporation. She was an advertising executive at the Commercial Appeal in Memphis until her retirement.
She married Larry Morton; they made their home in Germantown until his death.
She married Dan Moore in 1995. They made their home in Memphis until 2000 when they moved to the Old Friendship Community. Mr. Moore preceded in death in 2019.
She was a member of Old Friendship Baptist Church. She was a very outgoing person and loved to entertain family and friends in her home, which was always open to friends.
She is survived by a sister, Linda Jones of Finger; nephew, Travis (Shannon) Jones; niece Marnie (Bard) Ward; stepsons, Richard Moore of Winchester and Ralph Hughes of Moscow; four step grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

SHIRLEY MOODY – Feb. 14, 1937 – May 19, 2024

Shirley Nell Harber Moody, 87, of Henderson passed away May 19, 2024, at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center. Memorial services will be announced later.
She was born Feb. 14, 1937, in Dyer County and grew up in Shelby County, the daughter of the late Baalam Harrison and Lydia Marie Griffin Harber. She graduated from Bolton High School. She married Billy Reece Bradbury in 1957, and he preceded her in 1964. She later married Rubin Moody in 1976, and they made their home in Memphis. She worked as an Ad Clerk for the Memphis Commercial Appeal. Mr. Moody died in 1993.
She loved to sew and was active in Imperial Lanes Bowling League in Memphis. She was a member of Orchi Baptist Church in Memphis.  
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia “Patti” (Mark) Harris of Middleton and Janet Griesser of Gallatin; five grandchildren; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Michelle Pentecost of Arlington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Virginia Baldoff; and three brothers, Harrison Harber, Jack Harber and Billy Haber.

Janet Powers – May 25, 2024

Janet Carol Powell Powers, 69, of Somerville passed away May 25, 2024, at her home.
The family received friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, May 26. There are no services to follow.
