RANDY SMITH – Sept. 22, 1957 – Nov. 24, 2024
Randy Allen Smith, 67, of Henderon passed away Nov. 24, 2024, at his home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial followed at Sweetlips Cemetery. The family received friends at East Main from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday. He was born Sept. 22, 1957, in Henderson, the son of the late Charles Perry and Johnnie Rhea Goodwin Smith. He grew up in Henderson and was a 1976 graduate of Chester County High School. He married Elizabeth Ann Shelton on Dec. 27, 1979. They were married 45 years and made their home in Henderson. He loved working his farm which he did most of his life until his health prevented it. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Chester County Highway Department for about 20 years. He enjoyed listening to music, barbequing hogs and doing mechanic work. He was generally good hearted and would help anyone who had a need. He was hardworking and did not like being idle. He especially loved his grandchildren and spoiling them. He was a member of the Sweetlips Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Ann Shelton Smith of Henderson; two daughters, Sherry Carpenter of Henderson and Charolett (Michael) Welch of Henderson; four grandchildren, Shelby (Ethan) Nanney, Perry Welch, Elizabeth Welch and Tiffany (John) Barton; three great-grandchildren, Lakelyn Barton, Gunner Barton and Oakleigh Nanney; three sisters, Jackie (Joe) Fletcher, Betty (Kenny) Terry and Donna (Wendell) Murphy, all of Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Benny Lynn Smith and Charles Daniel Smith.

Deborah Joan Gruggett Plunk, 64, of Henderson passed away Nov. 19, 2024, at her home.
