Local business owner buried Monday

Robert Faulkner – Jan. 9, 1940 – Oct. 4, 2024

Mr. Robert Earl Faulkner, 84, passed away on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral Services were 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with burial in Friendship Cemetery in Beech Bluff.
He was born on Jan. 9, 1940, in Madison County, the son of Iverson and Pauline Huckaby Faulkner. He was an outstanding football player for Northside High School and received a scholarship to Mississippi State University. He was also on the Track and Field team. He won the state championship for the “shot put” contest.
He was the owner of” Faulkner’s Tree Service” for over 50 years. He was known for his exceptional work ethic and was very generous to all his employees.
One of his employees for over 20 years, Scott Crossno and his wife Sylvia were his caretakers when he was no longer able to care for himself.
Outside of work, he enjoyed watching all sports on television. He kept up with political matters and received mail from many of the candidates. He lived a remarkable life filled with dedication, love for his family, and unwavering commitment to his work. He was a devoted family man. He believed in God and spent time praying to his Heavenly Father. His devotion to his deceased wife was an inspiration to everyone.
He is survived by four sisters, Earline Raines, Patsy (David) Gaw, Gale Norris and Betty (Steve) Yarbro; sister-in-law, Janice Faulkner; nephews, Chris and Craig Faulkner, Bart Smith of Huntingdon and Spencer Norris; nieces, Debbie (Carter) Crenshaw and Angie (Lyndon) Wilson; and a host of other nieces and nephews of Nashville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Iverson and Pauline Faulkner; his wife of over 40 years, Marianne Faulkner; and his brother, James Faulkner.

DELORES BOYLE – Oct. 1, 1953 – Oct. 3, 2024

Delores Faye Boyle, 71, of Finger passed away Oct. 3, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Ben Herzog officiating. Cremation followed the service. The family received friends at Crook Avenue from 5-7 p.m. service time on Tuesday.
She was born Oct. 1, 1953, in Scottsburg, Ind., the daughter of the late James William and Lulabelle Ritchey Roll. She grew up on a farm in Scottsburg and was a 1971 graduate of Scottsburg High School.
She joined the U.S. Army in 1977 and served four years, working as a Cryptologist Collection Specialist O5K. It was during her stint in the Army that she met Scott Boyle while doing technical training in Pensacola, Fla. They married on Dec. 7, 1979. They were married 45 years.
After the Army, she worked for Crop Production Services as a Financial Service Manager for 10 years in Scottsburg. They moved to Key West, Fla., in 2006, and she worked for Trumann Little White House until 2018, retiring due to due to illness.
They moved to Finger in 2020. She was an avid reader and college football fan (Roll Tide!) with a great sense of humor. 
She was a devoted Christian and member of Henderson Assembly of God. She loved her family and gave herself to their care.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Edward Boyle of Finger; two sons, Paul Montana Boyle and James Dakota Boyle both of Finger; a daughter, Candace Leigh Boyle of Winter Haven, Fla.; one grandchild, Carter Wyatt Morris; four brothers, Jack Lee (Ann) Roll, Bill (Dawn) Roll, Edward (Teresa) Roll and Tim (Bonnie) Roll, all of Scottsburg, Ind.; two sisters, Margaret Ann (Mike) Julian of Marion, Ind., and Judy (Dennis) Highfill; and brother-in-law, Guy Evan Boyle of Irondale, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jerry Roll and Jimmy Roll. 

Janis McCall – Oct. 4, 1938 – Oct. 5, 2024

Cherished and loved wife and mother, Janis McCall, passed away on Oct. 5, just one day after her 86th birthday. Services will be held at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Henderson – Crook Avenue Chapel with visitation from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, and funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10.
She spent all her life bringing joy and hope to all who knew her, leaving a lasting legacy of loving children. Graduating from Freed-Hardeman College, she then attended Union University and Peabody College at Vanderbilt University, studying at the School of Social Work. As a social worker for the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services, she spent the next 37 and a half years advocating for abused children along with working on cases involving adoption, foster-care and cases with unmarried mothers and neglected older adults.
But the real legacy she left was with her family. She was married to Joel McCall on Oct. 21, 1961, and they spent 63 years together. Throughout their marriage, they proved to be the best example for a couple that their children could ever have, always providing encouragement, support, and unquestioning love. Not to mention enjoying a great laugh and ripe tomatoes.
Putting into words all the wonderful things she was and did in her 86 years of life is impossible. Suffice to say that she was the most wonderful, joyful, and loving person one could hope to call “friend,” “wife,” or “mother.”
She is survived by her husband, Joel McCall; a daughter, Mollie (Tim) McCall Forderhase; one son, John (Holly) McCall; sister, Patsy Bulliner; and her beloved grandchildren, Amanda, Alexandra and Anna Forderhase, and Anniston, Grady and Wiley McCall.

MICHAEL ‘PACO’ GOFF – Oct. 21, 1961 – Oct. 7, 2024

Michael Anthony Goff, 62, of Henderson passed away Oct. 7, 2024, at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Graveside services were 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family received friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Chester County Memory Gardens.
He was born Oct. 21, 1961, in Henderson, the son of the late Gerald Lee and Geraldine Kirby Goff.
He grew up in Henderson and attended Chester County Schools.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed walking. He also enjoyed sports and loved his cats.
He is survived by two brothers, Keith Goff of Henderson and Lynn (Sharon) Goff of Henderson; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mark Goff.

DEBRA CLAYTON – June 23, 1957– Oct. 4, 2024

Debra Bernice Stanley Clayton, 67, of Enville passed away Oct. 4, 2024, at AHC McNairy County Healthcare.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Christ Community Church with Michael Rickenbaker and Mike Cothern officiating.
Burial followed at New Home Baptist Church Cemetery, Henderson.
The family received friends at the Christ Community Church from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Monday and from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. service time on Tuesday.
She was born June 23, 1957, in Detroit, Mich., and was raised in Franklin, the daughter of the late Bill Stanley and Mary Rebecca Potts Stanley Key.
She was a member of the Christ Community Church of Henderson. She was a good mother, wife, and a good human being.
She is survived by a son, Jason Bradley (Lisa) Stanley of Henderson; one daughter, Jennifer (Davy) Clayton of Counce; grandchildren, Addison Stanley, Chance Redman, Abby Clayton and Anna Clayton; sisters, Pam White of Shelbyville, Linda (Mark) Taylor of Shelbyville, Diana (Jim) Norris of Shelbyville, Wanda (Tim) Phillips of Shelbyville and Vicky (Steve) Dove of Orange Beach, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aves George Clayton (2021); a brother, Brian Stanley; and two sisters, Janet Tallwater and Patricia Filippen.
